$7500. Makes the '78 CP in Michigan look that much better at $6000. http://santamaria.craigslist.org/cto/4455739138.html
About the only option this one does not have is the rear seats! Not very often you come across one of these with the (very rare) optional leather that still looks good, plus power seat, windows, door locks, plus cruise and delay wipers. I'm betting there is a tilt wheel, too. Looks like the body is in good shape as well. This could be a very interesting buy for the right person.
Mike, its sad that no one bothered to put a little leather conditioner at least on the drivers seat its been a while
It's hard to make a judgment. I can't get a good sense of the condition from the photos. The pine needles (or whatever the plant matter is) on it leads me to think it hasn't been garage kept (at least not recently). For whatever reasons, the 460 engine and DFRS still seem to affect the value. There's no mention of engine size, but the ad does say it's a 6 passenger. I'm very skeptical that it's worth $7500. Perhaps $5500 - $6000. I'm not aware of any authentic reproduction woodgrain transfer available for the '75 - '78 CP. I'm not a fan of some of the "generic" transfer out there.
re: 77 Mercury Colony Park Hi everyone, This is me, Kasandra. I did not know craigslist ads got picked up by this site. So, that is cool. Anyway, wanted to respond to a few comments. So glad to see people actually looked at the ad. When the wagon got listed with the original price, that was per my Mom's instructions. My Dad had just passed away, tragically and unexpectedly, so we were all in shock and she just said whatever she said for a price. Thus, the big price drop and price fluctuations. The wagon is licensed, past smogged, recent engine work and ready to roll (well I think it needs new tires to be out on the highway a long distance). About the leather, I did not have any time to detail the wagon, however in the past I have and it does clean up nicely. My Dad had heart surgery last year so he became rather frail and not able to do much of anything. And regarding the pine needles, that pine tree is all the way on the other side of the property! Those needles go over and all the way around the house! Absolutely NO sap on this baby! A very nice car cover has been put over the wagon, after a washing of course, and since California is in a drought we do not have to worry about rain on the car cover! p.s. we have the original rims too! Yes there is a tilt wheel and there are NO dents either! The photo of the wagon being driven in the middle of the cul de sac is not the location where the wagon is now. There are not DFRS. Anyway, guys and gals, thanks for checking it out. When I get the engine size and all that I will list that info. Cheers. Kasandra
OK, Kassandra, I've got some suggestions for you to help sell the wagon. - Get some wheel covers on the wheels. Looks pretty bad with just the black steel wheels. - Get the interior looking as nice as possible - Take better photos.. Get the wagon out in the open, not parked in a driveway, partially in the shade. When taking the pics, move the wagon around if you have to so the sun's at your back (minimize shadows). - Start with 4 'corner' shots, taken from a distance so that the wagon fills the frame of the pic. - Take one of the driver's interior door panel, one of the driver's seat area, and one showing the entire front seat and instrument panel, taken from an open right front door. - Take one pic of the engine compartment. Wipe it down first so there's not a lot of dirt and dust apparent. - Take one pic of the cargo / rear seating area (does it have the Dual-Facing Rear Seats ('DFRS')? If so, this should be mentioned in the ad. Good luck with your sale. Marshall
Hi Marshall Hey, yeah the wagon was moved from the driveway to the side of the house, (parked on concrete in a secure area, when my Dad went into the hospital. We had 10 extra vehicles arriving and needed the parking out front. It was complete chaos there. And in the midst of that, I was asked to take photos and list it...along with TWO other vehicles....and of course you all get to see the results of that. So I was, still am for now, stuck with those silly photo angles, etc. But when I have time I will detail the car and get some better photos. It has only been recent passing so things have been not so good. The photos I took of the '89 Caddi for sale are MUCH better! Thanks so much for the tips and when I get back over to my Mom's, and have that extra time, I will take your advice for sure. Maybe I will do that this next week. Thanks, Kasandra
