http://richmond.craigslist.org/cto/4584093979.html Car runs great - mechanically sound. 383 c.i. engine. Since buying it 3 years ago, I've redone the brakes (new master cylinder, wheel cylinders, lines, pads, etc.) replaced the radiator, plus a slew of other odds and ends to make it roadworthy. I have receipts. Dual exhaust with glasspacks. Sounds awesome. Power steering, power brakes. Power rear window works like a charm. "3rd-row" seating. Sits on 14-inch Crager mags for a cool effect. Good whitewall tires. Interior in good condition except for the front seats, which need reupholstered. Needs carpet. Headliner is good. The dash clock even works (sometimes). Lights and wipers work. This is a really unique car and I know I'm going to regret selling it, but I'm moving and can't take it with me. Ultimate tailgating car. Tailor-made for Foxfield. I bought it from a police officer in Luray. It's originally from the Tidewater area.
Dittos Rush. Really like the looks of that vintage. The tail lights look slightly sinister. Upholsterer's special. mike
1968 was the first year that side marker lights were required by law. I always liked how Chrysler seemed to do this grudgingly. Their lights were tiny round things, which sort of said, "Ok, we'll put these lights on our cars, but we're not happy about it!" You can see the side light lit up in this photo. Just a dot.
Yup. And the very next year they had to go to a larger light. '68 was the only year for those little round ones. I have seen a few early and mid-60's Chrysler vehicles retro-fitted with them.
And the year AFTER...... The requirement was not for lights but for visible illumination.... Chrysler determined it was feasible by use of reflectors... Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards came along and changed that thinking for them..... ??? This is the stock pattern. If you mean "an upholsterer has you over the barrel on this one to do right!"...yup, I agree. 1968 - Lights on the Chrysler Corporation cars, reflectors on the trucks. 1969 - Reflectors across the board. 1970 - Lights across the board.
