Greatings station wagon owners, wagon lovers, and wanna be's. As my good friend Minnie used to say "I'm so proud ta be here." I'm also the proud owner of a slightly used 1955 Chevy handyman station wagon. No it ain't a Nomad. But it's modified for fun and cruising. I am far from a young man but sorta shy and bashful therefore even though I've been a member for a long time this is my first official post as ModelT1. Yes I'm the new guy here so be gentle. I have been married to a sweet understanding lady for nearly 57 years. This proves I can stand much abuse and hardships. Inside that sweet shell of a woman beats a heart controlled by a very large skillet. So at times I may not be able to crawl to the computer to join you all in station wagon fun. I also tend to share many personal things so be prepared to waste a lot of time reading my posts. I like dogs, cats, and other critters. Just got tired of being called animal names and had a chance to get mine changed without a divorce or using a lawyer. I also own a few other junky old cars and a very old motorhome that looks like an Oscar Meyer weiner. We love messing with old vehicles, camping, and long romantic walks on the beach. Now that we are retired these romantic walks on the beach have turned into short strolls through Wal-Mart. We also have four kids. We abandoned three of them in Illinois when we moved to Florida. There's probably a lot more but my dementia and need for a nap leaves me to say again, thanks for letting me join you. Okay that's my introduction. Who's got the beer and peanuts. Can I borrow your cresent wrench and steering wheel puller?
Why thank you Mike. My twin CatModelT told me this is a good place to talk about station wagons and just about everything else. But he lies sometimes!
http:// http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=917 I'm glad you did that so I didn't have to do this! In case the link don't work(posting from my tablet and still figuring it out) it is a STICKY: INTRO'S AND WHY THERE NEEDED!
Welcome T1! I see you live on Florida, too. Be careful, we have another member from there who posts all the time, not necessarily on topic.
I know. Those guys live in Gainseville and south Florida. HA HA 1tireman I'm all legal. Now I have two introductions here. I was surprised when I checked in here today. Almost forgot who I am!
I didn't look at it that way. I am number one as in first, top of the list. Dang am I gonna have to change my user name again?
Thanks AK27. Being in Illinois it's possible you may have heard Model T out on the highways between CATerpillar factories. For years I was on the CB radio on highways like I-80, I-55, I57, and others trailer truckin around. After getting on the internet my friend told me I needed a user name. Found out every forum I went on Model T was taken so he just kept adding to it. Some sites I am known as Model T1. For some reason here I became CatModelT. I actually enjoyed the joking from certain "friends" here but given the chance I am officially ModelT1 again.
