    Its cloudy and just 88 F here @3:00 pm.
    We've been in the mid 90s for a couple of weeks.
    Pretty soon the heat, humidity, and the seabreeze will combine to give us some thunderstorms.
    Then the temp will go down, but we'll still have Cambodian style humidity.
    That's one reason Orlando is so pretty and green.

    So hot that I don't even want to know the temp today, nor yesterday. So hot last night that I woke at 12:30 am and went and slept on the cool from lawn! Woke up just after 4AM feeling great and went back inside, let the dogs out and we hung out on the cool front lawn till about 5am. I'm really tempted to sleep there again tonight! A few times I've chosen to sleep in a lawn chair on the patio because of the heat but the cool fluffy lawn was the best sleep I've had in some time.

    My bed last night (pic taken today, date is wrong) so hot I don't care about the flat tire on the Beateor rite now. I think it's safe to say I finnaly won the annual "lawn wars" this year:dance:

    I just can't take the summer heat like I used to be able to, just wipes me out now. Have not been back to my barn since I dropped of the parts-2 Buick and have not turned a wrench on anything. rare car rides for the dogs because it's to hot to park and leave them also. Mowing and hand watering the front lawn/flowers (and myself)and some painting inside and outside on the rear patio of the house Is all I've really done.

    Front of the house stays awesome cool just about all day until about 4pm, keeps the living room and bedroom cool all day also. A real b*tch come fall when the leaves come down but well worth it IMO.... and it gives a nice natural privacy fence from the street. I do play with the dogs on the front lawn after it's dark. My spur of the moment front gravel parking that only cost me beers is holding up well also, had grass start coming through in the spring but good old cheap and effective vinegar and salt took care of that problem.....animal friendly also but is sure smelled like a fish and chips stand for a few days:rofl:

    And then there is the dog's back yard:slap:.............. Not ever gona get hot enough for me to sleep there, grass does not grow in a play ground:rofl: The rest of my street the front lawns look only a tiny bit better. I only water my apple tree witch looks like we will have a good crop and my 2 year old pear tree....I had 2 pears growing on it I was green thumb taking care of....Rascal the little :cussing:ate them both 2 days apart, both time I busted him but it was too late!

    Tedy, a mixture of vinegar and salt stops weeds and grass from growing where you don't want them? Never knew that. Thanks for the tip.

    That's where 'salting the Earth' comes from. If you fell from favor with the Roman Caesar, your family and animals were slaughtered, and your lands were salted, which prevented anything from growing.

    Yup, a gallon of vinegar with a pound of salt goes 10 times farther than a gallon of Roundup and at a fraction of the cost. You just have to apply it when it's dry. Apply in sunlight and you can almost watch the weeds and grass shrivel up. But don't use it on your lawn itself for weed control, you will make dead spots, only use for complete termination use. :Blasting_anim:

    It's only around 90 here right now. Gets dark like it's gonna storm then gets bright like it's not gonna! Sitting here in the living room with the AC cranked up seems like the right thing to do.
    Dollie laughed when I read about Rascal eating your entire pear crop.
    But I didn't laugh.:rofl2::banana::rofl2:

    It was the high 80s yesterday for Seattle's Seafair Thunderboat Regatta. Mostly sunny, fair humidity (as compared to Saturday with thunderstorms and heavy rain blowing through), and the US Navy Blue Angels team shone spectacularly! The temp in my apartment didn't come down until around 1:30 this morning; you know it's hot when the fan blows 'HI' directly on you and it's still a bit warm. Supposed to be about the same today.

    It was 95 when we got out of the wagon for a bit of lunch - and getting warmer. Smoke from the various fires in Central WA was pretty high up but you could smell it and you could not make out the higher peaks which were shrouded in smoke.

    Safari that is a beautiful rig you have. I still can't believe those longer trailers were only single axle. The longest single axle we had was 19' and I hated pulling it.

    By the way this is for Tedy.:rofl2:
