New to the forum but longtime wagon lover. Just picked up a 1968 Ford Country Squire wagon. Ive been a longroof fan for years and have owned a few but recently restored a 1962 Shasta camper and needed something kinda period looking to pull it with. After a lengthy search this Ford is what I ended up with 390 4 bbl A/C, PS, PDB and a roof rack mounted surfboard Its an original paint rust free California surf wagon with that nicely baked worn out Ca. patina paint. I been sorting out a few things on it, recently bagged the rear and put a receiver hitch for pulling the camper and a new Radiator. I also just acquired enough NOS material from SMS to redo all the interior pieces in the correct Ivy Gold. Just planning on driving the wheels off it. Thanks for having me on the forum. Gary
Welcome to the forums. Really like your set up. The wagon looks clean and tidy, the trailer in tow just makes it all the better. Glad you found the forums.
Welcome aboard! Love the wagon! Did you buy it with the tires/wheels? I think I saw it for sale at one time. Anyway, congrats and have fun with your new toy!
Yup - we had a thread on your wagon back in March in our 'Auctions, Craig's List, etc.' section. http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30296&highlight='68+Country+Squire Reading the thread posts, you got one heck of a deal....... Glad to have you on the forum, Gary! Happy travelling.... Marshall
Welcome to the nuthouse we call home. That sure is one SWEET wagon you have there. I'm certain the two of you, plus the trailer and the family, will have many, many happy years together.
Intro Thanks to all. The tires and wheels were on it along with new exhaust including FlowMasters (has a great deep throaty sound) I did find the wagon on Ebay and it was in Kentucky at the time of purchase. All in All a great transaction. The guy I bought it from gave me a real honest description and I think I got it for a pretty good price. Gary
Welcome Gary. I like the picture. It makes the wagon look stretched. Today's Tupperware cars won't ever have the opportunity of finding a contemporary trailer, let alone haul it. Thanks for joining up.
Gary sorry I missed your intro. Nice intro and great wagon/trailer combo. Can't go wrong on either. My dad and his friend sold those Shastas new when they first came out.
aboard Gary! I like the Saltflat wheels on there. It looks like a well seasoned original car. Like you said, patina. I'm diggin' the trailer. Very cool looking combination. Jack
Thanks Jack. Im not really a Salt Flats wheel fan but I do think they look good on this and no plans to change. Gary
