I am a guy that loves cars, especially Fords. I have a 1965 Ford Falcon for Drag racing, a 1960 Cadillac for cruising, a pick-up, a Durango and 5 kids. We are looking for an older wagon in the 9 passenger relm to either fix up or purchase to haul all of our kids and gear around in. I keep my rigs very nice and am planning on this wagon to be an everyday driver. I have fallen pretty hard for the 1960 Mercury Colony Park or the 1961 Ford Country Squire. I would appreciate any help from anyone out there in directing me somewhere where I can find one of these wagons finished or not. Thanks and I am looking forward to see who's out there.

Welcome to the forums, Familyman :Welcome:. A 9 passenger wagon would definetly be a great everyday hauler for your family and sure beats a minivan!

    Thanks all for the welcome

I'm curious to know from the rev something about the 23 rigs you have. I am a die hard Ford fellow. I ended up with this caddy by default but it is really fun being that it was built back when a caddy was a caddy. Anyway, I have been looking for a 1960 or 61 Mercury 9 passenger wagon or a Ford 9 passenger wagon. DO you know of anybody or anywhere I might find some help in locating such a rig? Thanks for any help you can give and I am looking forward to hear what sort of rigs you have. By the way, I live in Oregon.

    Tormenting!

Uh..... wow. That is cool. Do you have any more pictures of that 64 Merc Colony Park? Is that thing a 9 passenger unit? Do you have five kids and need something like this? Cause I could help you get rid of it pretty easy you know, Ha Ha. Seriously, that thing is cool. I'd love to see more pictures of it to see what the front and rear end of that thing looks like. I don't think I've seen any pictures of the 64 Merc Colony Park. Please send more info on it because I'm just recently starting to learn a lot about the old Ford wagons. I had no reason to be interested before and I was always into 64 Fairlanes (of which I have a Sports Coupe Model in pieces)and Mustangs (I have a 78 Mustang II)and Falcons (my pride and joy 65). Then I ended up with 5 kids (which are a hoot by the way) and an SUV and a Ford crewcab dually to haul everything that goes with having 5 kids. The wagon idea came to me about a year ago and until recently I haven't really started acting on it. I just believe it to be a way cooler way to go then a mini van or SUV, and it's my style anyway. Thanks for sending more photos if you have them of this thing.

    Mrp

No I haven't been there. I mostly stay local. I just do it for fun every now and then. I haven't done any points racing for years. I would rather go out and street race somewhere. We have more fun and usually line up better races than what you get at the track a lot of times. What is your 64 wagon got in it for an engine. I looked at the site you told me about. It is interesting that they skip anything 61 and and 67 I think. Otherwise, I got a pretty good idea of what it looks like. I like it. As a matter of fact the ones I saw in 60-65 I really like. They are so different but so likeable in their own way. Sorry if I keep probing you on your 64 wagon, but I have been fired up to find one and it would be cool to either find a contact that has one and might know where parts are or other cars like this. The Fords are alright through these years, but I would prefer the Merc. Thanks again for any help this direction. Do you race anywhere, or have anything that you race I guess I should say?

    Doesn't hurt to ask

Well alright, but keep me in mind if something comes up and you feel like giving her a good home. Hey, I was on a site looking a production numbers of these Colony Park and Commuter wagons and I was actually surprised how many they made. It seems that in any given year between 1960 and 1964, starting with 60 about 10,000 wagons (all styles and combinations) pushed out and that number kept falling until in 64, there showed only 7500 or so combined 6 and 9 passenger commuter and colony parks. So your particular wagon could be one of 1800 or so. Anyway, in my search for a 1960-1964 Merc full size wagon I have found some that I'm not too fond of. I love the 60 (the headlight configuration is growing on me, but the rear end is so different and stylish that it makes up for the spaced out headlights) and 61. In 62, :( the taillights bother me. 63 and 64 :bouncy: they redeemed themselves and restyled the rear end and taillights, and I like them again. Anyway, I haven't figured out how to post a picture on this forum yet. I would like to show you my falcon but just can't seem to get this thing figured out. I see that you may have another picture on here as well, but I can't seem to find it. Take care Rev.
