Paisley top, too! A cool and rare option. Yes, the Gran Coupe option package was available on both the 2- and 4-door hardtops that year.

I often see the twin to that 4 door hardtop running around my area. Its the same color even down to the paisley vinyl top, and its in about the same condition (maybe a bit nicer). Only difference, is the one near me is sitting on 20" custom rims and has a huge Harley Davidson decal filling the rear window (both could be easily corrected).

    I have the same car!!

I have the same exact car in the 4 door model. These are wonderful cars!!
It was available in the two or four door model in Titian Walnut(Brown) or White. If this car was closer, I would buy it!! Next best thing to a wagon!!

I was checking the '71 Fury brochure, and there is absolutely no mention of the 'Gran Coupe'. I'm guessing it was a mid-year introduction. The '72 brochure shows the Gran Coupe/Sedan as the top model in the range.

By now, all the other main-stream makes had 'luxury' models well established. Ford had the LTD, Chevy the Caprice, Dodge had the Monaco. I believe Plymouth had something called a 'VIP' beginning in '68 or so. What happened to it? I did notice that the '71 Fury brochure showed a full line of 'Sport Fury' models - 2 and 4 door hardtops, a 4-door sedan of all things, a 'formal roof' 2-door hardtop, and a more sporty Sport Fury GT 2-door hardtop, with a 440 in it. All the Sport Furys had the covered headlamps.

It was a mid year production. There is a complete separate brochure that was available. This model was to compete against the LTD's and Caprice's.... It was a cross over of the Sport Fury and the Fury III. The only thing missing was a 383. This car had the 360. Still a very powerful car. If anyone has a '71 Fury wagon, I would love to see it.

    71 Fury Wagon

I'm in Chicago, but on the road for work until April 20. I'll try to post some photos then. I've had it 20 years...it was a featured wagon at Iola the last time they had a wagon summer...04, I think. Sit tight, it's not going anywhere until May.

Thanks for the video. It's nice to see one of these. Would like to see more of the interior.

I'll get that together Sunday. It's a factory black fabric/fake leather with black floor carpet, armrests in front, power drivers seat. Power door locks and cruise control don't work. Clock works but runs fast, AM radio works, AC works, horn is on a strip in the steering wheel, gas gauge doesn't work. Rear window works but needs a manual assist. Rear tailgate door works both ways. Rear passenger door interior pull strap has come undone. More info later, thanks for your interest, I need to sell it.
