No, one of those things with cup holders and storage bins that fits over the drive shaft hump. Back in the day you could get them at any big box store or auto parts store. IIRC they were secured with weighted flaps and or velcro.

Haven't seen one for years and would like to get one for my 91 CP. Anyone know where I might find one?

I have one in my truck and another in the Fury. Bought them both at the local auto parts store. If I recall correctly Wal-Mart caries them in their "Automotive section" as well.

I will keep looking. So far everything I have found is designed for FWD mini vans with flat bottom with no attachment method. I suppose I could engineer something to hold one in place.

We carry them at Napa, if they're not on the shelf they can be ordered.

When I drove big rigs HUMPERS were guys who hung around warehouses and unloaded trucks for a decent price. Ya need one of those guys?
He can also hold your hot coffee and loose change.

I've got one in the Way Back Machine, but it is not satisfactory. Spilled my coffee making a Rt turn once. Dang thing didn't stay put. I'm going to get some material (MDF) and make my own.

I'm guessing you mean something like this, which holds cassettes and coffee cups

or like this, which is very similar, which has places to hold cassettes, coffee cups, coins on the right side, a cigarette lighter in that little hole between the coffee mugs, and odds and ends (pen or pencil, pad of paper, small box of kleenex, pack of cigarettes) in that space just behind the cup holders.

Or maybe you mean something larger. But I do know what you mean.

If you don't want to go for something new, keep your eye out at garage sales and things like that. That's where I got both of the ones above for maybe $2 each. I have one in each of my two old cars, and they work fine for holding my coffee cup and whatever other little odd or end I'm carrying with me, like my cell phone, which is something never envisioned when these were new.

Yes, the top one is very similar to what I am talking about. Most that I saw were more massive with deeper cup holders but the same basic idea. There were several different styles of securing but that is the gist of it.

Making ones own might be the best option I suppose.

Way back in 19 aout 56 I bought one for my 1949 Dodge that was neat. A grey gunmetal colored tray with deep cup holes that had a bracket that attached to the bottom of the dash with a couple set screws. When not in use it swung under the dash. Of course the dash was real metal and there was room for real knees back then. Wonder where that is in my well organized garage and shed?
Maybe Western Auto still has them downtown. :yahoo:

    Mike,

The one pictured above that you were commenting on....we still have ones like that available at Pep Boys. They are less than 10 bucks if I remember correctly and were available in a few different colors. Give that a try if that chain is in your neck of the woods. I got a light tan one there for my 85 Colony Park and it has worked. I don't know that I would necessarily trust it with a giant big gulp, but a 12 oz. soda can has been ok.
