I'm not one to 'baby' my wagon. the 'Way Back Machine' has been getting a real workout lately. We're co-owners of a rental house about a mile or so from us. We're getting ready to sell it, and it needed a lot of work - floors, paint, plumbing repairs, electrical repairs, etc. I've been spending quite a bit of my daytime hours there, and making numerous trips to the local big-box home improvement store with the wagon. The other day we purchased 27 boxes of laminate flooring. Hauled all of them in one trip in the back of the wagon. It was sagging a bit, but I took it easy. If you're not hauling too much, you can get 10' lengths completely inside by resting them on the top of the dash. Good for baseboard moldings. You can always let them stick out of the tail gate if need be.
Good for you KK. I too believe they should be used as intended and do so by hauling our trailer all over with it. And so does Rev.
I used my Colony Park to haul a lot of stuff. That includes a Ford truck 400 engine and a disassembled cherry picker, as well as my tool boxes.
I hauled a complete Model T engine with tranny over 150 miles in my 55 Chevy wagon. Does that count? Have hauled home improvement items but since I have a truck it does most hauling now.
I did a big renovation on my house in 2012 and hauled A LOT of old crap to the dump and lot of new stuff from the lumber yard in my wagon. Not to mention a bunch of trip to and from the furniture stores! It handled it all very well, however I have since replaced the headliner so I'm a lot more choosy when it comes to tasks these days. The only time it really sagged was actually for a camping trip... I don't have the 3rd row seat on mine, so I filled the area under the deck with firewood and put all the camping gear on top. With the wife and kids, there is a lot of gear :banghead3: Needless to say, I avoided speed bumps that trip.
Your wagon and your truck for that matter, haul a Model T every time you get in them... Good to see you guys using your wagons for what they were made for.
My CP goes to Lowe's with me most of the time. It is so much easier getting stuff in and out of than the Escalade. I love watching people's jaw drop when I slide in a 4x8 sheet of drywall or plywood. One guy actually tried stopping me because he said "there's no way that will fit".....needless to say, he has now been edumacated!
