The "somebody" the owner of the dealership flew in to get a certicard on his Plymouth was Galen Govier. I have read articles about him and some had me kinda thinking he was not that nice of a person to meet but contrary to those reports I found him to be a personable guy and I even got him to sign a Dodge cap for me. He was humble and almost embarrassed I wanted his autograph but I told him as a car guy I thought it to be neat to meet him and have that to put with my auto memorabilia! Forgive the spelling in the title, was supposed to be MET not meet
He is the "Mopar Authority" that decodes the tags, build sheets and certifies the rare Mopars. Made a living out of documenting Mopars not a bad way to earn a living in my book.
I was talked out of a career in designing bras. Folks kept warning me that I'd be stuck working with a lot of real boobs all day.
Tedy, Tedy, Tedy.............Google is your friend.......... http://www.galengovier.com/ That cap looks cool Dennis!
Same here, we were talking for 20 minutes or so when someone finally said his name. I just thought it was neat to meet a car guy like that, especially after some of the articles I read but of course I get along with 98% of the people I meet.
I met him in 98when i drove my 79 300 to then Chryslers at carslile. he did a seminar very nice guy. Why would a Ford guy know who he is anyway?
That's cool, Dennis. I've seen him on a few TV programs, he seems like a down to earth kinda guy. He's the Mopar king. Pete
Thanks for explaining..... I would have never know who the f-? he is So is this forum. Just ask like I did. Google that MotoMike!
I've known GG for nearly 30 years now. In fact, some of his earliest raw info was provided by me - this was waaay back in the early '80s when he first started doing this, and I was parting the hell out of cars! My '66 Coronet 500 was one of the very first fender tags and broadcast sheets he decoded.
