Cheap enough, even if it were a homebuilt job. With the attention to detail in this build, I'll bet that it's either a concept, or a custom job by someone like the Alexander Brothers or the like. Very nice project. Were this considerably closer, I'd be checking it out!

I believe it is a home-built job, Patrick (or at least built at a shop, no connection to a vehicle manufacturer). Personally, I don't think it's that great a job.

It's got some collision damage in the area of the rear bumper.

It'd look a bunch better if they went to the trouble of matching the rear window angles.

Yep, looks like a concept I could do without. The back end looks like some sort of malignancy to me.

We have seen this one before, a couple+ years back. If memory serves all we got were the 2 exact same pictures before also.

I kind of like it but I don't. Hows that for a politician?
If they'd redesigned the windows behind the doors to flow with the larger rear side windows it would look nice. Or even added some sort of trim at the proper angle. I see what appears to be some rust runs from the upper side window and a damaged area at the rear bumper. Other than that it looks fairly nice. I wouldn't touch it unless it was a bargain.
Reviewing the price if it looked nice inside and ran decent it is a fair price.

i find it interesting.. but like has been said i think a little more time in getting the rear to flow with the car would of helped the looks of it.. but still seems like a good price if the drivetrain is in good condition

It's far too integrated and factory-looking for it to be built in some guy's home shop somewhere. Look at the whole back half of the car! That is not a "gosh, I wonder what I can do with my two Oldsmobiles?" hack job. There is a complete factory tailgate, bumpers, quarters, everything! Hell, for $2,500, you can buy a whole LOT worse, in terms of a project car, assuming this runs and has the right paperwork going with it. I like the proportions. Obviously, you have a coupe from the quarter windows forward, with the only real fill appearing to be the "C"-pillar area. If that is metal and leaded in right (I'm going to assume it is, for now), then you have a nice, pro job, whoever built this.

seems like if it was factory built they would of made a quarter window to match the rear window angle..or blanked it out and did a elcamino style door glass... but it was a good job other than that

I don't necessarily think it was built in some guy's backyard garage, but it's definitely the type of job that a good auto body repair shop could handle. Fab up the fitment on the Vista Cruiser top, take some measurements and work in the wagon floor pan and rear cross member. Not saying I could do it, but I've known plenty of body shop guys who could.

Our local central Illinois junk yards------ :49:Auto Recycling centers ------ would graft a car with a wrecked front and a good one from a wreck that was rear ended and you'd never know the difference. Adding a wagon rear section to a car front half would be easy for them. Our next door neighbor still does that at his home with totalled cars.
