Thanks! I will fit in then lol. Nice to know there are close forum members. Actually, my wagon has a factory 351W but, had a lot of tow package goodies installed years ago. Factory tow package cars are hard to come by. Are you from the south or, north end of Barrie?
Greetings hello from east central Illinois. I have been a car nut always starting with my dad who was into model t's and continuing with my son who is into mid 60's Chevells. My last old car was a 65 Ford galaxie convertible. It was a good "twenty footer" a fun summer car. Growing up we always had station wagons. First a two year old 56 Merc. wood grain. This should give you a clue as to my age! Than a brand new 60 Colony Park Loaded. an absolutely gorgeous land yacht. Than a new 62 colony park. I remember how disappoint Dad was in the 62. Smaller, less power. I have owned all kinds of cars. Mustang, Ranchero, Roadrunner,Beemer, Benz, but have always had a soft spot for wagons.
Hey, Marquisman. I'm almost right downtown, on Dunlop St. But I work in Toronto most of the time. You are right, Trailer Tow cars are rare indeed. Unfortunately, not everything from the package can be added, unless you start with a Police Package car, with the heavier frame. I had an 89 LS sedan I bought new, and what a thing it was! It had the 351W as well as the Tow Package. It drove nothing like a 'normal' Grand Marquis. I have found another, in a field in B.C., and I am hoping to rescue it this spring.
Rescuing a box panther is always great! panther chassis cars are hit and miss like that, A lot actually came with HD frames. If you are lucky enough to have a clean frame, you can check for a factory HD stamp, on the frame rails. Since you live on 90/Dunlop, do you ever go to traceys auto wrecking?
Also, I should mention, I know of a half decent '88 colony park for sale. Can get it for a few hundred bucks.
Where is that car? I need a good wagon more than you know! That would solve a world of problems!!! P.M. me, please.
