Drove up to the Mecum auction on Sunday and it was worth the trip. They said there were 3000 cars there, I don't know if I saw all of them but I saw a lot. In some ways it's better than the Barrett Jackson because along with the expensive high end cars, Mecum has plenty of cars that the average collector can afford. I wasn't buying so I just treated it like a giant car show. Mecum also has a thing called "The Bid Goes On". If a car doesn't sell when it goes across the block they put it in a special area with highest bid posted on the windshield. You can then negotiate with seller to try and buy it. Here's some of the stuff I saw.

'60 Plymouth, probably my favorite, even wilder in person, bidding topped out at 19000 and still for sale.

'94 Caprice, pretty clean, bidding topped out at $4000, still for sale

1953 Chevy Panel turned into a "Woody". The wood is just paint.

I went to Meccum. It was like a great car show just way more expensive if you felt the itch to buy! :D

Yup, I just went to look although some of the stuff seemed reasonably priced.

That Plymouth sure is a head turner. Look at the size of those fins. Yikes!
Grand Wagoneer looks to be in great shape.

Thanks for the pictures. I'm impressed by the little tents those cars were in. Make nice car ports at home.

I like that Lincoln concept, for some reason I like the lines and style.

I like it too Dewey. It would be a great wagon to haul weiner dogs and 1/4" 4X8 plywood.

I know it looks like a Citroen and a Delorean had a baby.
