I like it also,KK. The rear styling sure resembles my honeys Escape IMO. interior looks nice also and in some ways hints to the Escape yet I am not a fan of that bleached tan/beige Ford is putting out in the last few years. I'll admit it's a bit softer to the eye having a mix of the black/charcoal in the wagon you posted. One of my honeys friends bout a new Escape a few months after Deb got hers with that tan interior colour, complete tan inside. She honestly grew to hate that lite shade and regrets it. She has kids, we have dogs and ours at the worst of times looks cleaner inside.;)

Creepy..... I bout the exact same generic rubber floor mats for Deb's ( Rubber made brand) because Ford wanted a arm and a leg, and a kidney for theres:rofl2::yup:

I guess I don't pay much attention to newer cars. When did the Ford Taurus become an SUV?

I still think it's a wagon, but just barely.:)

It's closer to a real wagon than you think. It's based on the unibody Taurus platform, which is a rather large FWD/AWD unibody style. Also related to the Volvo S80 / XC90 (Ford owned Volvo at the time these were designed.)

Compared to what I remember a Taurus wagon looking like.... the design has become considerably SUV-ized.

The Fusion is actually the replacement for the older Taurus you pictured - just without a wagon variant. The 'new' Taurus is on a larger platform.

That Taurus is on the Volvo platform, and like so many cars from there, there is simply not enough wheel base for front foot room. The seats are chair height, and if your legs are as long as mine, your knees are uncomfortably bent. Also, because your feet are so much lower than your butt, be careful on a long drive! The seating position is very much like an aircraft, and an embolism is too possible on a very long drive. Rule of thumb is no more than 2 or 3 hours at a stretch, then get out a walk, get the blood circulating. A normal car has my knees nowhere near as bent, which allows better blood flow. In other words, I am not a fan of these 'cars' nor of the Volvo on which it is based.

I really enjoy my '08 Taurus X; no complaints whatsoever.
This one seems very high priced, especially since it's a fwd and not an awd.

Prior to buying the 04 Towncar this past summer for wifey, we test drove a very similar model, the Ford Flex (2010 if I recall). It had the Limited package and the options were incredible. Navigation, moonroof, rear fixed glass ceiling panels...a la vista roof....console with cooler for drinks, dvd player for the kids, kitchen sink, turkey dinner with all the trimmings, blah blah blah.

I was in love until we actually drove it. It was not very smooth....awful on the bumps...might has well of been a Jeep Wrangler. Perhaps the suspension/frame in the Taurus X is different.

I test drove a Freestyle when they first came out, which was the previous version of the Taurus X. I didn't care much for it, as it had (IIRC) the 3.0 V6 and CVT, which didn't perform very well.

When they revised the Freestyle and renamed it the Taurus X, I believe (IIRC) they upgraded to a 3.6 V6 and gave it a real transmission, so it reportedly performed much better.

What I don't know is how reliable these are. If they prove to hold together well, I could see me buying a low-mileage example in a few more years. Overall, I like the styling and size.

Well these cars have come up recently in conversation....

I know nothing about them but because of all the chat I sure have noticed them, a lot of them driving around.

We have 2 member who own/have owned theses, IMO first hand experience is what I would base my decision on witch is how and why I chose a Escrape for my honey after she liked one. Comparing it (sableX) to a Escrape or a Furd Confusion really has no merit.... along with embolism's, aneurysm's, diarrhea or any other possible industrial disease these mite entail. I kinda like the looks even though they may not be 'it" for others. I'm more than willing to learn more about these from real word experience owners.:thumbs2:... I did a road trip once for 2 hours in the Escape and I farted.... I guess that could have been explosive!:rofl2::biglaugh::rofl2:

This is an example of a situation when I would rather spend $22K and get a brand new Grand Caravan instead. That's a pretty ridiculous price for a five year old car that didn't sell well when new. If it was a dog when it was new, it doesn't automatically get a pedigree when it gets older.
