I don't know the protocol here, so I'm just putting up what seems to be the interesting ones, but there are a lot more I could post links to. Any advice from people on this? I'd hate to see a wagon go to the scrap yard just because no one knew about it. I mean, I've got the following here around cincinnati, and I don't know if I should put up the links for people or not. 65 nova wagon $10,000 87 buick century estate $700 57 chevy gasser wagon 88 chrysler $600 69 falcon $5500 72 vega wagon racecar $7500 48 crosley wagon $2700 72 Chevelle $6000 70 chevelle ss trim $17500 What do people want to know, and how much is too much, or how little is too litle? Thanks!
Yeah, post up the links. (personal rant... if the car for sale has no pictures, contact for pics etc why post it?) But to keep things tidy, you posted a gas tank for sale on Graigslist here. That should be in this section.... http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=14 and if any of these wagons are yours they could go there also, but parts definitely....
fat teddy, I totally agree with you. I suppose I can see not posting pictures if you're only asking a very small amount of money, but really? Some of these people are asking fifteen or twenty thousand dollars for a car, and they can't post a single picture? Even the most basic cell phones have a camera on them! Unfortunately, none of those are mine, even though I would love to have many of them! Thanks for the info about the part section, I didn't even think to look for one.
zzzizxz that's a lot of station wagons for sale in your area. I don't see that many around here in six months. I'd say post whatever you can find. If it's too much I'm sure you will hear about it. Just when we think the station wagon supply is drying up more come out of the woodwork....Or woody!
That's a hard one to answer, Z...... There's no 'rules' per se on what's a good wagon to post. We all have our own preferences on what we think is interesting. I'll just give some details on I might post...... - Almost any 50's or newer wagon that appears to be in good, driveable condition and has an affordable price (under $6,000) on it. - Anything fairly rare or unique, like Corvairs, Studebaker Larks, Plymouth Valiants, etc. - Anything that seems to be an exceptional value - Anything that appears to be in exceptional condition Other ideas..... - Posting of imports is welcome, but the American wagon is king here. I wouldn't mind seeing a few more imports. There's just not that many of them. - We don't post SUV's or CUV's, or (usually) anything newer than about 15 yrs old or so....... - We like to see complete vehicles that (are supposed to) run. - Dealer listings are OK, but we can be brutal in picking them apart.
First off, thanks for thinking about those looking for wagons. I post any wagons I come across because you never know what someone is looking for and the one you post just might be Someone else's holy grail so post away and welcome incase I forgot to.
Almost any 50's or newer wagon Some good information but why not include ALL station wagons all the way back to the depot hacks and other early conversions? Wood is good and a few of us love the older vehicles, parts car included. More than one member here is working on non running project wagons with dreams of putting them on the road.
My thought exactly! If it is a wagon, no matter the condition, age, mileage, make or model, post it. One suggestion, though. Only post one link per thread. We've had people posting multiple listing in one thread, and it becomes unwieldy very quickly as different people post comments about the various wagons.
Those were just my preferences as to what I like to post...... I don't think we need to clog up the section with a bunch of threads on '92 Camry wagons........but I could be wrong.
What the heck???? Did Cinncinati outlaw ownership of station wagons? I haven't seen that many wagons posted here in a year! I say post them all. If someone isn't interested, don't look.
