Not too far from me as well!

Would anyone here know if the 3rd row would be rear-facing or side-side facing (I'm not sure if that's a good term) like the full-size Ford wagons would have been?

Ask and ye shall receive! The answer, that is! Thanks, I'm not too familiar with the Fords of this generation.

Although, I can help but think of this scene when I see this wagon!
From the movie "Used Cars" the test drive with Toby!

I Emailed the seller asking for better pics. All I got was bigger versions of the pics from the listing. So, I've uploaded them to my Gallery. You can go to my Gallery to see bigger versions.

I like craigslist honesty. The lister says that the car has 'always been garage kept." It seems that he forgot to mention that his garage is at the bottom of teh ocean. :D

I was always told that the Cleveland engine was better than the Windsor. Anyone have any opinions on the matter?

Someone I knew had had Fords with both engines, and he claimed there was a problem with the oil return on the Windsor version, leading to a shortened life vs. the Cleveland version.

Interesting thread on Cleveland vs. Windsor engines; thanks.

MANY differing opinions, LOL! Apparently that is a popular topic to debate in the Ford community.

I grew up in a 70 Cougar Q-code 351 Cleveland 4V 4spd and have all ways been under the impression the Windsor was a more streetable user friendly engine. Dad's Cleveland as he worded it idled and ran like a shaken coffee can 1/2 full of rocks until 30MPH and he even said that he hated it for normal city driving but if you launched it, oh how I loved that feeling of being totally g-forced into the back seat followed by Mom coming unglued at the seams telling dad to stop it!:yup: I also remember dad chatting with the trusted gas station mechanic who kept saying,,, it's made for speed, not city and at one time offered to swap it for a 351 Windsor...Dad declined. I remember my sister learning to drive in that Cougar, it was either stall or holly sh** burn out and look out!.... she ended up taking her driving test in my Uncles 4 door AMC Ambassador :rofl2: She did learn how to drive it and drove it daily until one day Dad needed the "old car" for some reason to them be rear ended by a dump truck and that was the end of what would/could have ended up as my first car...... never got to drive it once:cry:

But back to "witch is better".... Being a 70's kid, My old man was the king of the hill and it wasn't so much the car but the Cleveland under the hood, everybody wanted it and it wasn't just the mechanic who tried to buy/engine swap.

That's my experience with the Cleveland, even was a passenger in the early 70's in a 70 351W Mack I, and even as a kid you could tell that Dad's Cleveland rocked!:chirp: I totally remember how cool it was because it was a Mustang, but I clearly remember the sound (or lack of), the no constant vibration was completely different.

Looks to me worth checking out for anyone liking this type wagon........ Me included. I'd guess it's been stored in one of those shelters awhile rather than a garage. But who cares? It looks straight.
