Beautiful and obviously well cared for Country Squire and with a very realistic price, I think.

Does the mileage look correct? the 6 in the 60,000 seems off? Could it be 160,000 ?

Seems odd for an 89-year-old man using CL to sell a car. Notice that odo just hit 60K, so perhaps it has not quite fully rolled in yet. I do not let displays like that bug me. In the late '70s, we'd get brand-new cars off the transporter where the odo was slightly askew like that. Assuming it is indeed an 89-yo man selling the car, I can not imagine him rolling it back. Why are low-mileage cars so hard to believe for some of you guys???

    Nice car, no doubt.

    86 Squire

I'll tell ya' what's really weird.
This 89 year old guy has put a Metal foot-outline gas pedal plate on car.
Who does that on a Country Squire? Maybe if he was 16 or 18........
    Just sayin'....

I think it's just that in the last year'ish a clear flood of wagons come up as low original miles when clearly they are not compared to 1 out of 10 before, with the claim. Not saying this is the case with this wagon...........

It is a nice looker, that's for sure.

There is an 88-yo Iwo Jima survivor locally that has a hot rod Merc he's owned sine 1953, when the car was just two years old! What does he have for a gas pedal? That same surfer's foot!

I did not even notice that initially, in the pic. Cool.

cautious is how I would describe us...looking at the mileage, 89 year old, craigs list, gas pedal foot, etc.....I just bought an 84 with 55,000 miles. Is amazing but I also had all that paper work showing the mileage....if this guy is the original owner the paper work will verify it.... i have been watching wagons for the last year or so and I deff notice a increase in the pricing

I inspect cars for buyers, on the side, for an auto inspection company based in Connecticut. I've been doing this for 14 years now, and believe me, I know precisely what to look for when claims of "low-mileage" are presented by the seller. But, it seems many of you guys have difficulty believing ANY claims of low mileage with any car. Not all wagons have 200K miles on them, you know.

    Nice car

I wish other craigslisters would take note of this 89 year old man's ad.

Note: I regularly write ads for others information in first person with their name and number. The point...I believe the ad, but few people beside Cat are that computer literate at near 100.

Not all of em but MOST of them do! Some states are not like PA where you have an annual inspection and records to PROVE mileage. And as I have said before the interiors in these cars are EXCEPTIONAL in the wear department. (Kudo's to ford on that one).

And I too know exactly what to look for on "low mileage" claims, and is usually why I call bullshat on 99% of them!

On this car I will say this,

    A. I don't like the look of the odometer that does not line yup but YES it did just turn
    B. The rear window door seal is nice as is most of the plastic. you can tell it was stored indoors.
    C. I don't like the way the carpet looks just inside the drivers door or the weatherstrip being out of whack in the same area.
