Not really. I find them ugly. However, they drive pretty good and are solid cars. I used to chauffeuer an Addam's Family in Sweden miles away to visit their son in a juvenile corrections center, in one of those Amazons in sedan version. Their dad used to get upset when I shifted down to a lower gear while turning off the ignition and waiting until unburned fuel mixtures would fill the exhaust system. When I turned the ignition back on, the car would backfire as loud as a silver salute and get horses moving on the pasture. He was kind of mentally distorted as if some mule kicked him in the head during childhood or perhaps both parents were simply drunk back then. So, he'd get upset and throw a fit. His kids got entertained by my antics, though
Love 'em! My first car was a two door 122S. Swedish tanks. The sedans are prettier but I would take a wagon in a heart beat. Those two are a bit beyond my ability to reclaim though. What I would really love is a Duett. They were sold along side the Amazon/122 for a while. mike
be carefull how you say that I like the mid-60's Volvo's that looked like little 39 Ford coupes. Now yes, I understand Volvo's, especially their wagons are good, sturdy, reliable cars, but--- I don't know !!!
say what ??? oh,,, and that one wagon HAS NOT "been cut down into an elcamino". There's more to being an El Camino or a Ranchero, than being a cut down version of the car they're based on.

For Me it would have to be a Later P 1800 Wagon http://www.google.com/search?q=P180...jKtXF4APJx4DgDQ&ved=0CC0QsAQ&biw=1067&bih=503
P1800's are beautiful but a Duett holds more stuff and you don't have to crawl on the ground to get in and out. Seriously I love the 1800 series but I am not sure I could handle the egress issues anymore. What I like about the Duett, besides the retro look, is the tall cargo area. Might even be able to get a full size organ console in there (would have to take some measurements). The Duett also has the advantage of being Body on frame. At the bottom of your search is a great example of what the Amazon should look like... http://www.google.com/imgres?start=...AHWz4D4Cg&zoom=1&ved=1t:3588,r:78,s:300,i:238 mike
