Hi Eveyone,,,I haven't posted on here in a long time.
I was hoping that someone can tell me where I can buy a new gas tank for my 1986 Pontiac Parisienne Safari Station Wagon.
If you can, please email me directly at...

Probably the best price too. We bought a 55 Chevy wagon tank and a 1941 Ford tank from Rock Auto. Fairly fast service too.

    Wagon tank vs sedan

    Thanks guys,
But the Rock Auto site just has it described as a Pontiac Parisienne, not specifically a wagon.
Do the wagons & sedans use the exact same tank?
    Thanks, Wayne

    Thanks Dan!

    Hey Dan,
Should I buy one with or without the filler neck?
My neck is fine, so is it difficult to install the old neck
    and have a good seal?.
    Thanks, Wayne

    Baffles in fuel tank?

    Hi Wayne,

How did the fuel tank replacement go? I was thinking of replacing my tank in my 1988 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser wagon but heard the non GM tanks are built without internal tank baffles so that the fuel slops around causing the fuel gauge to jump about.

Have you suffered from this issue after fitting a replacement tank? Oh, and which one did you end up fitting?

    Cheers,

    Fenn

    Fenn,,,Tank

    Hi Fenn,
I did buy the tank, but with the rough Winter we had, I did not get a chance to install it yet. My mechanic friend and I plan on installing it within the next few weeks. I bought the Spectra Premium online from Rock Auto.
I will check out the specs on the tank and I will get back to you.

I don't know about the G.M. tanks or tanks from Rock Auto, but I've never had any problem with after market tanks. Come to that, a friend did replace the tank in his Olds Cutlass, and there was no problem with slopping, either.
