I don't know much about Edsel's but I'm quite surprised by how plain the seat material is. The ad says she's original but I was expecting something with a bunch more pazaaz.

Beautiful car! I suppose the '58's might be a little more collectible though as they were more their own car than another Ford as this 59 became. The 58 seat material was prolly a little more "over the top" too I bet?

The 1959 wagon seat fabric and patterns aren't any too impressive looking. Here's an artist's rendering and description of the layout. Someone around the corner from here had a red and white '59 for a while, looked great, but I never saw the inside. I don't know if it was just an old car to them, or something special.

The whole interior has been redone. Should have a cardboard headliner with plastic ribs, front door panels originally had the word "villager" stamped in them. seats were vinyl with "horse collar" stamped on back rest, Interior had color keyed rubber floor mat and load floor was not carpeted. I've owned one for over 30 years(y)

    oh baby baby

As collectibles go, they say the first year of a make and/or model and then the last year of a make and/or model are the most collectible. Meaning the middle years are less collectible, somehow. Since there was only one middle year, and all three years had distinct looks, I'm pretty sure all three years are equally collectible... At Mercury, Villager was the base model, more often than not. Although, in years there were Commuters, it would have been that model that was the base. Villagers were the "grocery getters", Colony Parks were the floaterboats. At Edsel, I do believe the Bermudas were the top-of-the-line. That it doesn't have a roofrack doesn't necessarily mean it's a base model. For a while, Colony Parks didn't always come with roofracks either. Not sure of Edsel heirarchy.

For 1958 Edsel had 5 models of wagons:
    2 door Roundup
    4 door Villager 6 passenger
    4 door Villager 9 passenger
4 door Bermuda 6 passenger= wood grain trim
4 door Bermuda 9 passenger= wood grain trim

For 1959 and 1960 Edsel only had one series of wagons. That was the Villager 4 door in either 6 or 9 passenger form.

They followed the original patterns, and general look. It would lose something if it was slathered in rolled and pleated vinyl, which is not always right for every restoration or renovation. I thought the western theme vinyl in the 1962 Ford wagon I saw once was a tacky owner choice. It was a factory option.
