Nothing better to do at the highest level, it seems. Instead of focusing on lowering the deficit to avoid economic collapse, attention is diverted to what's of absolutely no importance. The caps will likely be Made in China, anyway : http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/10/24/obama-wants-marines-to-wear-girly-hats/
Actually, this is false. The female cover MAY change, but the male cover will remain as-is. Thank God! All the Marines need is a dress cover that makes them look sissified...or a French Foreign Legion member! Read this for the no-$#!t truth on this - US media didn't bother actually following up on anything reference this, so what FOX, MSNBC, and others said is simply BS...read here - http://www.stripes.com/news/us/mari...-obama-s-alleged-push-for-girly-hats-1.248963 Oh, and it is a COVER, not a damn "cap"; or worse, a "hat"!!!
Actually, the Stripes.com story contradicts itself quite a few times. True, the President hasn't ordered the survey, but one of the options is to change not only the women's cover, but perhaps both the women's and men's cover to a unisex"Dan Daly" style. The article clearly states that, and yet the final sentence claims otherwise. A convoluted article claiming to set the record straight. David
This is some very important news! So when is a HAT not a HAT ? Looks like a hat. Fits like a hat. Smells like a hat. Quacks like a ----oh never mind!
The one on the far left is definitely a cover. The one on the far right looks like it was designed in Paris by some prancing women's fashion designer carrying around a French poodle everywhere he/she/it goes
Many relatives and our two oldest sons were Marines. I know what you speak. To me they are hats. End discussion.
When you hear most people pronounce marine, does it sound like marine or mereen, Sir? On top of that, the word "marine" has a Latin origin and not an English, or to be exact, a Germanic origin (King James Bible English, before the invading French tampered with it): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_English Actually, "Marine" is a French name for a female (I wouldn't have brought it up, had you not asked, Sir). In fact, this popular French politician was assigned it as a first name: http://dolomitengeistblog.wordpress...ichrekord-wahl-ergebnis-fur-marine-le-pen-20/ "Marina" is the same name in Italian and probably Spanish. The Italians don't call their seamen Marinas. Instead, they call them "Marinai" which means, "Those who serve on the seas". No intention here on insulting the Marine Corps branch of the service. But, if someone in the government wishes to alter their head covering, for whatever strange reason, they probably should start with adjusting the description of this military branch first Oh, I don't know. To me, the Legion head covering doesn't seem half as wuss'd as the proposed cappies. Those shoulder tassels, maybe :
Hmm. Not sure what to say on this. Several generations/members of my family have served one branch or another for America. I think that I will simply sit back and observe the masses on this one. Its interesting to see what people say/think/react...
We're supposed to think first? Yes, what service men and women wear and how they react is a touchy situation. We should all be proud of each one and let them know when we see anyone in uniform.
I just found a Mareen, Sir. She's a Miss Germany runer up: http://www.stadtkurier.de/pdf/ausgabe.pdf Look who she lost to. Unfortunately, they take other issues into account when judging a Miss something. Mareen is number 10. Number 17 won : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dv4BoJ-BSb4
Several months have passed for a snappy come back attempt, but even the Russian judge give a high score for the eye candy...... Russian judges are suckers for girls in RED
