I finally got around to joining this great group. I've owned a 1976 Vega Kammback Wagon since Nov. 2007. I got it from the original owner, it currently has 36,000 original miles on it, and is very stock. Just last week I obtained a 1973 Caprice Estate Wagon from the original owner, 99,000 miles on this beauty. The lady's husband ordered absolutely every option offered by Chevrolet, power windows, locks, seats, a still working am/fm 8 track, vinyl top with luggage rack, third seat, cruise, tilt, air, of course the awesome clamshell tailgate, and the best part, it has the 454! Even still has the 454 badges on the fenders. Of course I can't afford the gas to drive it everyday, so I have an 2007 HHR. And although its not a wagon, I also have a 1976 Monza Town Coupe with 124,000 miles, purchased from the original owners daughter. And I'm currently looking into getting a 1994 Caprice Wagon from the lady I got the 73 from. I'm not a huge fan of this style, but I know about the engine in these, so I think I could be turned around. Any thoughts on the 94 style wagons out there?
Welcome to the SWF, Bowtie. Nice collection you have there. Got a HHR in my garage too. Used to be mine until I got the Safari. Now the Mrs. drives it. Post up some pics when you have a chance. Marshall
Welcome to the madness! You've got a great collection going. The '94 wagon, sometimes referred to as a whale or bubble wagon is the last of the great ones. It, along with the Roadmaster and Olds Custom Cruiser have a following all their own. Many owners hang out here as well as http://gmlongroof.4umer.com/.
Hey all, since I'm in y 50's now, I'm not to computer literate, so I will be posting pics of the wagons as soon as my wife or kids can help me! I can't tell you how informative this site is, thanks again for the welcome wagon comments.
Hey Fannie, I've yet to get the 94, the same lady owns it that I obtained the 73 from. She still holds out hope that she will drive it again someday, so I told her when she's ready to sell it, it will be in good hands in my garage!
