    If it's in fact a Pontiac it is an Astre Safari. Same as a Chevy Vega.

    I have wanted one of these for awhile so I could install this.

    It's a 380+ hp Pontiac Super Duty race engine based off of the Iron duke.

    Yep.. that exactly what that is...an Astre - not many left... same as the vega's - they all rusted away after a few years.

    Canadian only 73 & 74, Astre's in Canada & the US 75-77, Sunbird Wagons 78 & 79, Here are a couple of shots of my 78 Sunbird Safari. And a couple of a 79 Sunbird parts car from a few years ago.

    There is also a buitiful red 75 Astre GT wagon on Nashville CL for 2200.00.

    It has a built 3.8 Buick V-6 (working on a better 4.1 Buick V-6!!!!) and 3.73 gears. It suprizes alot of the local kids in their Honda & Toyota's!!!!

    It ought to. Those GM 3.8's are great! Especially if you turbo it like a Grand National. I'm sure the fit is perfect as they used to put 350 V8's in them from the factory.:yahoo:
