Funny what turns up when you take a side street, eh? I took one one day, only to find a 1977 Dark Blue LTD Country Squire, with the 460!!! The guy had it for sale for around 2500 or 3 grand, I can't remember, it was this past summer. But your story reminded me of that car. I was actually driving my caprice behind an 80s caprice sedan too!! They seem to be coming out of the woodwork lately.
Thanks for all the compliments. Actually this is my first year in college. I am a commuter and it is a little over a 50 mile round trip per day. I unfortunately do not drive the wagon to college because I don’t want to rack up that many miles on it, not to mention all of the rocks and debris that come flying at the car driving on the highway. Since I got my Chevy truck, I would rather put all of those miles on it so I take the truck back and forth to school. CapriceEstate, I agree that more and more of these seem to be coming out of the woodwork lately. Just this week alone I saw 2 late 80’s Mercury Colony Park wagons, an 85-ish Chevy Caprice wagon, and that 84 Pontiac Parisienne wagon I mentioned before.
Yeah, they're just coming out from all over the place. I think the fact that they are less costly and easier to work on is contributing in the economy. I was parked right next to an 87 Caprice today as a matter of fact haha.
Hi Corey, I am 46, when I was 18 I had a 1964 Olds F-85 wagon as my 1st car, how I loved that car. Cars with big frames, rear differentials, heavy A-Arms and a soft ride are becoming a thing of the past. Enjoy it while you can. BTW
That 64 Olds F85 is a good looking wagon! It is true, these big heavy cars are a thing of the past, but I hope to enjoy that smooth ride forever. I do not plan on the Parisienne ever leaving my possession. I always hear from other people about how they wish they still had thier first car, so I am going to be one of those people that actually keep thier first car.
(god I wish I was 18 again)! Nice ride! The thing that I like most about this post is that a young man of 18 years old has an appreciation for these wagons and is spending his money to keep his as perfect as possible. Way to go, Corey. You are an exceptional young man.
