I've been to this event about 7 times in the past 10 years. We love it. Sure, there are lots of bratty kids in their jacked up diesels. But we love seeing the thousands of nice rides. I've got lots of pics. Just about everything was For Sale. I tried to get pics of phone numbers, in case anyone is interested. To start it off, here's Buttercup with the awesome view of the Great Smokey Mountains.
Thanks for the pics, the gold Rambler (wish ya got a shot of the woody trailer) or the built to nuts V8 VW, just can't choose! I've seen many a car customized, tricked out, rat, forien, etc and some even if they are not my cup of tea so to say I can normally find some appreciation in the build weather it be craftsmanship, paint, etc. Yet this time I can't find anything positive about the build.
Yeah, I was going through my pics after I got home, and was thinking "seriously, I didn't get any pics of the Woody trailer?!?" Don't know what I was thinking. That V8 VW was incredible. Very clean build that was done right. Would have been neat if he had left the outside more stock looking, made it a real sleeper. That Chevy wagon was crazy. Looks to have had a super straight and rust-free body, before he started cutting. And it wasn't parked in one spot, and never driven, like most other cars at this event. He was driving it all over the place. As far as the '68 Squire, most cars at this event are way overpriced. There is A LOT of trading that goes on though. I've got a friend who goes to the Spring Rod Run every year, and comes home with a different car every time. This one was probably my favorite. It was gorgeous.
WOW! Great pics! Some great vehicles there.... I'm really liking that '65 Impala with a big block in pics 2 & 3. I spied something in the background of the pic of the red '57 Chev 2-door wagon. Wish there were more pics of that Lincoln Continental... Some turkeys there for sure, but looks like it was a great show all around. Marshall
that wasnt a car show....that was a Swap Meet !!!!! holy crap sure seems to be a lot of people jumping OFF the band Wagon
