34k original miles and it shows! Very interesting option choices: power seat, rear defrost and cornering lights, but no intermittent wipers or factory gauges. I think 1986 was the last year before GM went to option packages. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1986...0134611?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item3f28f5c353
That is a nice wagon. It's close to me so i put it on my watchlist. But I suspect his comment about how this isn't a $3-4K wagon makes me think the reserve is way more than I want to pay...
Beautiful wagon, that's for sure. All the important options, to me anyway, are present and accounted for, and it does not have the ones I dislike most. Too bad about no delay wipers, though. They would be nice to have. I have a funny feeling the seller is looking for somewhere north of $5,000, and likely over $7,000 for this one. Condition seems to justify that opinion, but the market is speaking loudly and clearly. You can tell it is a rust belt car, though, by the surfaces underneath. Nothing a bit of tlc won't put right in a hurry, though.
Definitely a beautiful car and interestingly optioned. I have never seen that generation Pontiac wagon with those "systems monitor" lights before. My '89 had the gauges. Lack of delay wipers very interesting on this one as well. Seeing this car makes me wish I had of kept my dark blue '89 Safari. That car had never been in salt and the undercarriage looked like new. Not sure what ever happened to it.
not too shabby A bit plain, in that white, considering all the snazzy colors Pontiac's could be got in... Have seen some with woodie---NICE! The Pontiac wagons somehow lend themselves to woodie better than the Chevy's and Old's. IMO. Looks like one to get, though. Not sure how much higher than $3 to 4,000 is wanted for it. Maybe that means he thinks it's a $5 or 6,000 car.
I'm seriously put off by this one - not by the wagon (the wagon's nice); but by the seller's ad copy. Unless this was a wagon that I absolutely HAD to have, I'd take a pass.
He certainly wants to understand it was well cared for. And, he did make it sound special that he did an oil change and tune up. Things you're supposed to do anyway, especially if the car is well cared for...
I'd be interested to know what the reserve was. I would have paid a little more than the high bid if I didn't already have a wagon that was in as good of shape as mine. It's a nice car, no doubt, but it is a mid 80's wagon and not highly "collectible". His target market is someone who will use it as a vehicle an that market won't produce large payouts.
