I went today and purchased a new distributor for my wagon... hopefully get it installed tomorrow.

Saturday plan on trying it out and see if that has helped the lower power/bogging down issue... if not, I am cutting off the exhaust system to see if its a clogged exhaust issue.

If both fail, you will see it listed here or on Craigslist for trade. ;)

Even my 74,000 mile 04 Dodge truck had both Cats plugged. Made a big difference to unplug them.

Bumper Fillers Installed, removed the gas tank AGAIN, installed the brand new one with rebuilt sending unit. Had to calibrate the sending unit but it works perfect now. Extremely excited to have a working gas gauge. Now to hook up the trailer to the truck and head to Omaha NE and pick up the new hood and trunk lid for dad's 63 Impala Convertible and then swing to Des Moines to pick up the Monte Carlo from my wife's cousin house.

The catyletic converter clogged up on my wagon about six years ago, caused a blown head gasket and the car ran terrible, my father fixed it by ramming a piece of pipe through the thing. No issues with that in this state, I could pass inspection without there even being one on the car. Good luck though, catyletic converters are eeevil!

    Not much to report here.
Drilled a new hole on the carb throttle linkage so that the stock Ford accelerator pedal linkage will fully open the secondaries on that Edelbrock. A running test shows that the car is even faster off the line now.
Either I am getting more bold... or am simply getting used to the old lose steering box. In either case... I suppose upgrading the front brakes should be my next upgrade as I can out-run the braking distance by scary amounts now. :whew:

    Love this car!

Fixed a minor coolant leak yesterday. Replaced two taillight bulbs. Vacuumed the car. Will probably wash and wax the old girl tomorrow.

Spent almost an hour checking all the vacuum hoses on the Bonneville yesterday.
Found one of the hard plastic lines had a crack in it and one of the connectors on the EFE TVS switch was loose.

Hopefully, fixing those two problems will help eliminate an occassional off-idle stumble.

Starting to plan my next wave of mods...I'm thinking a 700R4 with a 3.73 posi to make things a little more interesting.

In case you missed my 700R4 post about son's 85 Chevy truck, check NAPA before you buy anywhere. Down here used 700R4's are getting very hard to find in U-Pull-It's and there is no assurance it will be good.
The price he paid exchange was very good.
I am in no way affiliated with NAPA.

I finally got around to fixing the problems with the rear brakes and springs. I had 2 inch drums over 2.5 inch shoes, so new shoes and the correct drums went on. I replaced the cargo coils I had temporarily re-installed with the lowering springs and air bags. One of the air bags had ruptured. When I tried to air them up, I discovered the other original bag had a leak as well. I guess I'll have to see about getting a replacement this week.

I also noticed some of the exhaust hangers need some attention before the system decides to drop out from under the car. Always something to do.

Chasing a rust issue in the fuel tank. from sitting the 18 years. Ended up replacing fuel tank,Lines, fuel pump, filters and carb. Bought her a new distributor, coil, wires and plugs, new hooker headers. Damn!!!! that was a expensive tune up on the fuel system??? She runs like a new crate motor should.
