My name is Brian and I'm new to this website. I have found it fascinating to look at many of your pics so it is about time that I added some of mine. The first one is a 1965 Buick Sportwagon that was purchased in Renton, Washington in 1989. It is light beige with tan interior. It has the 300 V8 4 barrel engine. It has the third seat in the back. It is a unique car with the windows in the roof and does get noticed at car shows. The second one is a recent purchase, a 1988 Buick Electra Estate wagon. It was purchased in North Vancouver, British Columbia. It is white with the woodgrain on the sides and a blue interior. I wasn't looking for another wagon when I found it but it was too nice to pass up. It has been looked after and stored in underground parking for most of its life so the sun hasn't bleached out the woodgrain or the blue interior which looks like new. It has the Oldsmobile 307 engine and it rides like a Cadillac, very comfortable. It has practically every available option except for power antenna. Hope you enjoy! Welcome to the madness Brian! Beautiful Buicks there! The 65, Super Turbine 300 drive trans? What kind of gas mileage does it get? From Wiki: "In 1964, Buick replaced the 215 with an iron-block engine of very similar architecture. The new engine had a bore of 3.75 in (95 mm) and a stroke of 3.40 in (86 mm) for a displacement of 300.4 cubic inches (4,923 cc). It retained the aluminum cylinder heads, intake manifold, and accessories of the 215 for a dry weight of 405 lb (184 kg). The 300 was offered in two-barrel form, with 9.0:1 compression, making 210 hp (160 kW) @ 4600 rpm and 310 lb·ft (420 N·m) @ 2400 rpm, and four-barrel form, with 11.0:1 compression, making 250 hp (190 kW) @ 4800 rpm and 335 lb·ft (454 N·m) @ 3000 rpm. For 1965, the 300 switched to cast-iron heads, raising dry weight to 467 lb (212 kg), still quite light for a V8 engine of its era. The four-barrel option was cancelled for 1966, and the 300 was replaced entirely by the 350 in 1968."
Welcome to the nuthouse we call home, Brian. You're going to fit in here just fine! I can't wait until one of our members, Elegache, comes across your wagon. He's in the middle of fixing up the 67 Buick Special wagon his father bought in 69. Somewhere he has a thread about the build, including the engine he's had built and is having installed now.
