We used to use Liquid Glass for years, amazing shine etc but the one thing we found with it is that it seems to cause a static issue ...it really 'draws' dust. It was on both steel cars and fiberglass: really crazy static issues on our 67 Corvette. Have not used the product for a few years now, have they solved that problem?

Started the dis assembly of the front end today on the Vista cruiser, found a few addition issues to work on while things are getting powder coated.

I haven't noticed any static issue. But, it's not very dusty around here because it rains all the time.

    another choice

Been using supplies from Griots garage for many years. Richard has a whole system of self developed finish restorers, polishes and waxes.
They also are being carried in a limited supply at Advantage Auto supply.
The Peterson and Lemay car collections use this stuff on their multi-million dollar cars as well. Richard used clay long before others got on the bandwagon, and glass polishing. Give them a try..worth the price.

    K & N filters

Raced motorcycles in the early 70's and used K & N filters. When they offered them for cars...a no brainer and with over 30 cars I have never had a filter related failure. Amzoil works too.

    Nice Meteor wagon!

As for mine, I drove it to work yesterday and was going to take some friends to lunch. Hopped in, turned the key and got the clicking-buzzing sound that indicated a bad starter solenoid. My 3 friends got a serious look on their face - I told them no biggie, let's take someone else's car to lunch and I'll pick up a solenoid. They weren't sure what a solenoid was, or that I could find one for my old car. I told them that we pass an O'Reilly Auto on the way to BBQ. Found the part on my smart phone, stopped in, grabbed the part, ate lunch, came back and replaced the solenoid in the parking lot (less than 10 min job with the BS'ing involved - always have a travel tool kit in the wagon). Hit the key and she lit right up! This makes me an expert with this group, but around here I'm just another grease monkey with too many tools.....

Hmmmm, on a FoMoCo vehicle that usually indicates a dirty + battery cable. Maybe you didn't need the solenoid and unwittingly fixed your problem while changing it. Those solenoids hardly ever go bad.

    Confused

This is a " what did you do to your wagon" post....NOT a critique of what was done. Respectfully submitted.

I had new battery cables and they were in good shape, so I didn't do anything there. I have no idea how old the solenoid was that I replaced, but it looked like it had been there a long time.

Also - I didn't take any comments as a critique. I appreciate the troubleshooting advice.
