Looks pretty solid but they need to take some interior pictures. I think $3500 might be a tad bit high for something that doesn't run.

Doesn't run and also looks low option. Manual tailgate and manual control driver's outside mirror.

Bet that gas tank is rusted through and full of sludge.

Wow the heading got me excited! 73 Caprice for $3500. But a full electric tail gate is a must, and it needs be a goer no matter what. Pity it looks ok though, except for the rust under the trim along the side back windows.

I love this car! Too bad there are not any interior photos, we don't know how it is optioned. All we can see is that it has a manual tailgate and has bumper guards. Strange it has a manual driver mirror, I thought all of these had remote driver mirrors? I guess its an option that I never knew mine had since mine has it, lol. As far as other interior options, who knows... all of these old cars were so oddly and differently optioned.

$3500 seems OK, I paid $4000 for mine... it ran when I bought it... just would not go very fast, lol. I guess this '73 needs a new tank, fuel lines cleaned, fuel pump and probably a carb rebuild.

WHEN was the last time that anyone has seen a 1973 Caprice Estate that was copper color? There has been ONLY one that I have ever seen and that was in the 1973 movie, "Dying Room Only". It was a factory color on these, but apparently very very rare!

The wagon posted here seems to be a common color on these.

It reminds me a lot of this 1973 that was for sale in Florida a few years ago... I saved the photo of the car. This one has a power gate obviously.

I love this car as well 72 Kingswood, I really want a 73 Caprice but this is only the third 73 Caprice wagon that has come up since I have been watching. One was a non A/C model in Canada, one is outstanding but in the Netherlands and is very expensive (I am still hoping to hear back from the seller though) and this one without a full power gate. Also it would have been great if it ran but if I am going to the trouble of bringing one out to Oz, it needs to be clean with most of the goodies available on board. I guess that's why I am looking at other opportunities like the 72 Kingswood that's on the table at the moment. Still hoping to hear back from that seller too.

$3,500, Dented tailgate, non running, rust issues around rear windows. Sad part is a demo guy will snatch this up for $2,500-$3,000. Sell parts and then smash it. The Blue Buick is ten times the car for the money

I know you really want a power gate, but look at it like this, if you get one with a manual gate, that is one less thing to break. lol. Hopefully the stunning '72 will be a good one for you if you can settle on a price. I would just be happy with one that runs. Was going to work on mine today, but the weather has had other plans... it has POURED rain all day. :(

No dent in my gate, but mine was $4000... I was the foolish one I know, but I wanted a clamshell so bad and this one was right in my town, so I figured by the time I paid $1000 shipping, I would be as well off buying this one for $1500 more than it was worth. lol. If this '73 had a solid floor/frame and had the 3rd seat and air, I would trade my '72 for it. They appear to be the same condition body-wise, but I wonder how nice the interior is? My interior is in excellent condition, thanks to the car being stored out of the sun for many years.

No, he only put it as an email contact and I actually emailed for some interior photos, I am wondering how it is optioned on the inside. I havent heard a word. Actually this seems to be a common thing on Craigslist, so many people I know will email about something and never get a reply. I have actually emailed about other cars locally over the past few weeks and not ONE reply, I tried from two different emails I have thinking one may not be working, but apparently that is not the case. I think something is wrong on Craigslist end, not getting the email to the poster, OR people love posting items and wasting peoples time.

A little O/T, but I would trade my wagon AND my Lincoln for this... not a wagon, but I want this car! :) 1973 Cadillac Sedan DeVille. I dont have $6000 to buy it though. lol.

I hate it when the Phone # is not posted on a "for sale" ad.

I got a reply from the seller and I think we have a plain-Jane Caprice wagon here. They said that the car did NOT have ANY power options and does NOT have the 3rd seat option. They are supposed to send me some interior photos tomorrow.

So you get the wood and that's it? I think I would rather a well optioned Impala instead.

I think the fact that this' 73 Caprice Estate has pretty darn good looking woodgrain and A/C and looks to be in pretty good shape all around, is a big deal. Power options are great, but they are also sometimes trouble. A good body, engine (we hope) and A/C are huge! I think if he can get this one up and running, it is a real find. But, alas, a derbier probably is waiting in the wings.

    David :)

I see that the seller finally posted more photos. :)

Yeah its a pretty basic Caprice for sure. Most of them had at least a few options, this one was apparently one that someone wanted the woodgrain, but no other options other than A/C.

I agree! The woodgrain looks good and the interior looks excellent from what I can see! A/C is the big option must for me and this one has it, which is not uncommon if it is a factory South Carolina car. Summers are dreadfully hot and humid there. 3rd seat option lacking is a disappointment to me, but it is still a nice car. It is basically optioned like mine except mine does have 3rd seat and tilt wheel. Mine does not have any power options.
