Hi, My name is Austin. As of this writing I'm a 21 year old Station Wagon enthusiast and my father drove an 80s Chevy Caprice Estate Wagon in the 90s, Which is part of why I like the cars. I'm interested in playing music, Repairing and designing musical instruments and gardening. I usually drive my Father's 3-Litre 2000 Dodge Caravan but I sometimes drive the 1984 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Sedan which we usually keep in the garage. I'm also on Ecomodder.com under this same screen name, I do some hypermiling for a little better fuel economy. I'm glad to be aboard. - Austin
Welcome to the nuthouse, Austin. I think you will fit in just great around here. It is also neat to have someone else who believes that incredible fuel economy is possible from the big old cars. My brother had a 79 Thunderbird and an 86 Colony Park that both returned 40 miles to the Imperial gallon, and that was without hypermiling. I'm about to get myself a 77 Cadillac Coupe deVille with the 425 under the hood. I'm going to see just how far I can take that one, too. I' hoping to get it into the 40s as well. I figure a mile here and a mile there, and the next thing you know, you are doing pretty well indeed!
to the group. We can use all the current members we have and all the volts the grid will handle. But please don't revolt.
Hi, Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I'm from Northwest PA, Fairly close to Cook Forest. I am hoping to buy an Estate wagon to drive, I'm unsure which one though; Late 80s or 90s? I'd like to have manual windows and I'd like to convert the car to a Diesel so I can run it on Biodiesel and not stink up the planet so much. There aren't many wagons around here in my area where the cars were probably used in derbies. Come to think of it now, I've seen more Wagons than I previously thought in the area but it's still an uncommon type of car around here.
Thanks and thanks! (I'm beginning to wonder if I shouldn't reply here so much so I don't bump the topic up. If anyone else welcomes me, Thanks!) Austin
