we have a thread for what we think is the ugliest car, how about one for the prettiest cars? I like my wagons, my former 91 and 93 sedan nosed roady woody
I have to say this is one Sexy Wagon! It is a picture I found on the web that has kept me looking! Pretty sure it a 1959 Impala Wagon.
(OT....... Your OZ Nova's really would look a lot better.....................on my Safari.) OK - 'Pretty' (beautiful) wagons, IMO: '57 Buick Caballero 1960 Ford Country Squire (I've seen this actual wagon in person, and it's a jaw-dropping beauty...) '96 Chevy Caprice wagon (this '96 Chevy Caprice wagon) And for something a bit different, Bob Garacochea's 1958 Pontiac Star Chief 'Bonnewood'
Here are a couple of my favorites: 1940 Packard 120 1953 Buick Estate (I like all the post-WWII through 1953 versions) Custom 1948 Ford: 1947 Buick Super Estate: And I'm a big fan of this 34 Ford: But believe it or not, THIS is at the top of my favorites list: I think the 64 Pontiac full-size cars were very clean and well-proportioned and the Catalina wagons are my favorite.
I just love a car with that ground clearence... You run hydrualics on this one? Curious how you made it in the back.. Do you have a buildthread somwhere?
No build thread unfortunately (hope to have an interior build thread soon) I run hydraulics with accumulators front and rear, not the "hoppy" type hyros (one battery each pump and the front pump shares the cars regular battery) strickly for ground clearance and still rides big and floaty. The rear set up was done with a mono leaf with a Toyota Tundra overload leaf upside down on top to give it more stability at ride height. The rams are basically in the stock shock positions, except for a geometry change on the rear to prevent binding and stress on the shackle attach points. The soft ride of the accumulators have made the set up hold up exceptionally well.
Lots of beautiful cars out there... http://encarsglobe.com/photo/md/jaguar-d-type/05/ http://www.astonmartinw.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/aston-martin-db61.jpg http://www.influx.co.uk/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/512-BB.jpeg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GOrGVW8yzy8/UDQnYYpMCCI/AAAAAAAABA8/IcMdvtntoaY/s1600/1.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PostOsRkk...IcBE0/s1600/1971_volvo_1800es_break_07_sb.jpg Just a few off the top of my head. mike
I really like these cars! GGerman / English Fords! They came to sweden with Straight 4, 2.3 / 2.6 / 2.8 V6 Terrible engines, but lovely cars.. As i was younger, i had about fifteen of these. They were cheap, and i was a young motorman and loved to restore the engines in them, and frankly must have made me a lot of money doing it, cuz they were so many on my yard those years. Unfortunally, they are rare now..
I agree, Lowlow. The lines on those wagons are simply beautiful. Wonder if a nice little 302 V-8 would fit? Maybe, if there is enough room between the strut towers. Wish we got them here, though. I'd love one of those, with the right engine under the hood. Sweet wagons, for sure.
Beautiful '05 turbocharged AWD Subaru Legacy GT wagon that I have been drooling over. http://www.elitemotorsonline.com/web/used/Subaru-Legacy-Wagon-2005-Mundelein-Illinois/1235030/ If it was only a manual instead of automatic, I would seriously be considering a shopping trip to Illinois.
