Indeed! I went down to the previous owners house yesterday. I cut the door off of a parts car he has. A 4 door. Get the door home.. Not gonna fit. Wagon and 4 door have different window tops!!

Oh well, I will cut the sheet metal out of it and weld it into my door..

Love the wagon - nice find!

I love the styling of Tempests (and other models) from those years. A station wagon just adds to the cool factor! :thumbs2: Your plans sound great... looking forward to see how things progress.

What would make a way cool custom is to use a donor 4 door hard top and build a hard top wagon, but with buckets and console. Only thing is it means sacrificing a rare Tempest wagon and a rare Tempest 4 door hardtop. I think I'd sooner keep both rarities original. Save work, too!

That's what I'm planning to do with my mine. Before I let it go I had a TH400 performance trans built, a Hurst His-n-Hers shifter, a complete '66 automatic console (junk compartment still had the lid, lock, and key!), a different steering column to eliminate the column shift gear selector. I hadn't sourced any bucket seats yet. The floors and crossmembers were pretty rotted so I got new floor pans and the first and second crossmember but never installed any of it before I gave it to an ex to settle a debt. The console and the shifter are gone (dangit) but I think everything else is still there. Going to work on it tomorrow so lots of rust will be posted tomorrow nite!
