I'd prefer power windows too, but the crank windows would not stop me from considering this Olds as nice as it appears to be. That after market steering wheel has gotta go. Hope they saved the original. Notice that it has Buick wire wheelcovers on the driver side and Cadillac wires on the passenger side? Hope they have the original wheelcovers also.
I will never again have a large car with crank windows. It is a safety factor for me. Most of the time, I am alone in the car, and if I need to get windows up, such as in a sudden rain storm, reaching across to roll up that front passenger window, never mind the rear windows, is just not safe. Been there, done that. As for the vinyl, it does not wear as well as the cloth, plus it is very HOT in the summer and cold in the winter, both of which we get a lot of around here. For me, cloth upholstery is the only way to go, but that is just me.
Totally used to (and able to) reach all four windows from the driver seat of the Torino. That back right is only difficult if I'm turning right at the same time. Couldn't say that about the Delta 88 sedan I had, the cranks were too low on the back doors. Score one for Ford, the cranks are high enough on the door panel and forward enough to be accessible for the driver. I'm 5'10" by the way. If I remember right when I was a couple inches shorter back in '95-'96, I had the '65 Biscayne and I was able to do all four of those windows from the driver seat as well. So it may be a 77-90 B/C-body thing. Any 2-door car I want crank windows. About the only time I'd want power windows would be in a vehicle where the AC doesn't work and I can't reach all four from where I'm sitting. Maybe the big GM cars, 71-76...
