Yes, 1977 was the first year for the downsized GM box wagon that followed the clamshell wagon.

Yep, a '77... change the grill and it may pass for a '90 if looking at it from the front. :) That body style was around for many years as we all know with updates every couple of years. I like that steering wheel... has that '70s look, after that in the 80s I think it was the same wheel for many years. This is a nice one, the interior is super nice... well cared for.

June '77, I was 15 months old. Hard to believe I was a small pup when these cars came out in late '76. lol.

101 total photos. Wow. I didn't think there were 101 different angles from which to photograph a car.

It's a fantastically beautiful car. I wonder what his reserve is.

Looking at the presentation of this wagon by the seller, this Buick really looks fantastic and is just what I am looking for in quality and overall condition from a wagon of this age, but unfortunately it is just one year too new for what I would be considering at this stage! Still it will be a beautiful car for the lucky buyer.

    Cheers

For what it's worth, Premier, I wasn't originally looking for a GM 'box' wagon, but after driving the Pontiac Safari for a couple months, I'm glad I did. It rides real nice, solid - no rattles and squeaks. Great visibility. Good comfort. I'm glad I found this one.......

This is one BEAUTIFUL wagon, and extremely well equipped and cared for. The only thing that would make me really, really want it is if it were the Estate Wagon Limited, which had the Electra front end and trim. Call me odd, but I do prefer the 4 ventiport models.

I agree. The Estate Wagon Limited option made an already very nice Buick even better.

Hi Krash actually it's worth a lot. We just did not get anything quite like these big powerful wagons or even sedans or even coupes in Australia in the 70's like you guys did so I am taking in all I can especially before I commit to buying and importing a car back over from the states. This Buick is just a beautiful example and I would love to be in it, but I just can not go past a GM clamshell.

I have always been a GM kinda guy and love idea of a big block family cruiser, and the Chevrolet name plate is the most recognized by far in Australia so that is what I am looking for atm. Also June 1973 at this stage would be my cut off point because we can keep the original red flashing turn signal. After that date they will need to be separate from the brake light operation and must be in amber, meaning I will have to screw something foreign to the bumper.

This does not mean I would not look at other options but I need exhaust my first preference first.

    Cheers

Permier: There is another way around the turn signal issue for you, the same as in Europe. Use the reverse lamp housing as the turn signal, just install an 1156NA bulb, and you have your amber light through the clear lens. Add a Class III/IV trailer hitch, and you can get clear fog lamps that mount to it for reverse lamps. All the changes are simple bolt on that way, and no permanent changes and nothing that looks like a silly aftermarket afterthought. Also, a goodly number of G.M. vehicles came with a different light cluster for use in Europe and they would work as well.

The 78 looks absolutely beautiful. Needs good interior pictures, though. I'd love to know which interior it has, whether it is cloth, vinyl, or cloth front/rear vinyl seats.
