Since when is Detroit in Australia? It's a four door, too bad. Pontiac had a rear wheel drive V-8 powered Holden based car and it had the proper number of doors. They talk like it's something that hasn't been done by GM lately? I'd take a 2006 GTO over one of those any day, the GTO is faster, much cooler too.

With the gimp leg of mine, automatic is better for me also not that I wouldn't enjoy a standard or still try to speed shift one, the reality is Probably not as good as I once was and probably never as good as I thought I was As far as the performance of these SS cars go, it may not be the fastest GM car built but with the aftermarket support for the Ls engines, your wallet is probably the only limiting factor.
By being built in Australia may limit the car's export due to poor currency exchange. Sales of the Australian built GTO suffered because of this.
Sales of the GTO suffered because the car looked BLAND. Same with the G8 sedans. They had very little of the true Pontiac flair built into them. What there was in the way of flair was obviously tacked on. I'm afraid this one may be more of the same. Also, they will need to have more than just the SS model to support the costs of building it. And more body styles would be a good idea, up to and including the El Camino. After all, there is already a UTE version!
