Nice-looking car, and I always like the two-tone, white-over-something color scheme.

    Nice!
Hope a wagon fanatic picks that one up.

I like the ad, I like the wagon. Very reasonably priced, IMO. May not be loaded with equipment (probably crank door windows, for one), but it's an 'honest' wagon. I also like the 'family album' pics. Nice touch.

Contacted the seller through craigslist a couple of days ago. She doesn't know how many miles are on the car, the odometer reads 5000 (105, 205? could be either). She bought the car about 2 years ago and has been using it as a daily driver. There is rust on the right rear and on the hood. She says she bought 4 brand new tires but hasn't driven it since because it needs a front end alignment. It pulls real hard to the left and she doesn't want to ruin the tires. Sounds like it is more than a front end alignment to me. This is about 100 miles from me, at this point I don't think it's worth the trip.

Stuck brake caliper, worn ball joints, bent control arm? Doesn't sound like too severe a problem. Just needs to be diagnosed.

Looks like a really nice car, and well worth checking out. Even a complete front end rebuild is not that big a job on these cars. As long as the frame is good, the rest is a snap. Sounds like the kind of car you could buy, and drive for a long time, and never lose a penny on it.

The car is mostly solid, but the tailgate has some pretty severe rust and will likely need to be replaced. Yep, it's a fairly bare bones wagon, manual windows with the exception of the rear glass. 400/2bbl/th350 The floors are solid and so is the cargo area. The paint looks better in the pictures than in person but it's not bad. It's not the original paint and I'm guessing a fairly inexpensive repaint. It does run well. Probably 105K miles. front seat does have a tear in it. Rear seats are nice, as is the 3rd row.

Not sure about the front end work but I'd guess it's related to the brakes.

(I actually owned the car for a while.... I'm the one that sold it to her.)

Hey, teej - it's a part of our family then!
How's the '421' Safari coming along? There was a similar '66 posted here recently.

Yeah, it was basically a rescue. I took a bus down to Miami and drove it back under the assumption that it "ran fine".... Uh...Not! Took me many hours of driving 50 mph on I95 to get the girl home. People were not happy with me.

Bought it for $1000, put almost that into it, replacing the front bumper, grills, carburetor, shocks, etc... Had it listed for sale for $2500 and a cute little hippy chick bought it for $2200 if I remember correctly. Her boyfriend (?) was against it so it made me want to sell it to her even more. I'm not sure what all they did to it, so I can't comment on anything else. It was fun, but I like the earlier ones.

As for the 66 421 ? It's in the garage, now with the engine out. I've picked up a number of parts but haven't found the time to start putting things back together. The tri-power is rebuilt and looking great. I'm going to drop a 400 I have ready into it to get it on the road, I'm hoping this year. (Fingers crossed.) Picked up stuff for a disc brake conversion too.

Maybe I need to start a thread on it to get me motivated...
