Could you imagine callin up those hammer-heads that are on the reality muscle/classic/hot-rod shows and making them come out when you tell them you have a 69 Hurst-Olds with a 455 for sale cheap? Only for them to come and you tell them NO....I said "69 HEARSE OLDS with a 455". Heck, they'd prolly do a hack job on this anyway...

Bad place for this photo. Makes the car appear to have a pitched roof. :biglaugh:

It could be a Hurst-Hearse Olds! I love the special roof line on it for stacking bodies. Wonder if Linda Vaughn could be persuaded to ride in the back?:rofl2:

Same body builder as my 65 , my 65 has a slight crease line down the center of the roof. Builder is C/B= Conter Bevington. 69 roof looks like it has no crease.

Man Dan, I gotta admit, that is one fine 65 hearse you got. Me tends to think the 65-66 Oldsy 98's are really overlooked as collectibles. They are quite handsome cars AND many I have seen have really nice interiors too. Quite a worthy contender for my 65 Mercury Park Lane, thank you!

So Dan since you're the resident expert on the subject or Hearses whats your opinion on this 69? It's only an hour and a half from me and I've wanted a hearse for a while. Price seems reasonable to me and it looks like it's in good shape. I know there are corrosion issues on all these conversions but being here in Arizona it might be minimal. Give me your take on it. Thanks.

    Hearse

My 2 cents is looks like a nice coach for that price. 1 Check all the glass , the windshields are a commercial chassis item and are available but a little pricey. 2 The side glass and back glass only interchanges with that particlar builder = Conter Bevington. Check the rear bumper ,it is a cut down and modified stock piece. Rust proofing was never a strong point on the early coaches. Check that the rear window removable panels have all the attaching point and fasteners. The front sheet metal group is stock Olds , the doors are unique to the Hearse , they look similar to the stock piecies but are not. A lot of interior and exterior trim are unique to coach .If anything is missing some of it is tuff to come up with. Ask if they have any past history ,my 65 came with some neat paper work. If the top is vinyl they are notorious for rust out, but this looks like a crinkle top so should be rust free. Good Luck

I agree the interior is beautiful on the 65 . I picked up a 66 T/T column for it and I ,am looking to score a 65 or 66 for the A/C stuff. The 65 also has the cool spinner hubcaps Thanks
