Awesome, I'm green with envy! My '69 is sitting in the driveway while I contemplate a rebuild. I didn't think the 429's showed up until '70 though, is it original?

Welcome to the madness Joel! :Welcome:

Honestly, when I first read the first part about "mods", I immediately groaned "There goes another original one!" But your work looks first rate from the :camera: and its what you're happy with as the owner/driver so I'm glad another wagon is saved and being utilized.

The 69 Squire is a favorite of mine and that red color on it is outstanding. Enjoy and keep us updated on what's going on with it.

    :camera::camera::camera::camera::camera: for intro/mod category!

Wiki reports the 69 Squire was the first year of the 6th gen Squire which started off with the 302 as standard then switched to the 351 as standard mid year. The 429 was indeed optional in 69, and I believe the 429 came out in 68 in some other models. (y)

Dang! That is a sweet looking FORD! I love the stance. It's amazing how a set of tires and wheels can change a car's look. I totally dig the exterior with the woodgrain and red paint patina. Gotta love that pre-smog 429.

Which shockwaves did you use up front. Or more to the point, can you tell me how to properly measure to get the right set for my 78 Colony Park.

Did you have to clearance your upper spring pockets with the shockwaves? I'd love to see some pics of the install, very little reference material out there for bagging full size fords for some reason.

The shockwaves bolt in just like a pair of shocks, super easy, no trimming necessary.
to measure; just remove the coil and shock, jack up the lower control arm till it bottoms on the bumpstop, and measure top to bottom where the shock mounts. Mine measured 10.5" top to bottom.
I ordered Ridetechs RQ 1000 series double convoluted Shockwaves pn#24030105, w/ a t-bar on the bottom: full compression 10.35", ride ht 11.8", full extension 13.6"
You must use the double convoluted because they carry more weight than the sleeve style, and our cars are big.
On the rear I used the 90009002 tapered sleeve bags in the original coil spring location, (The rear shockwaves were too big around to fit in my car, but would simplify install greatly if you have the room), I also used shorter shocks to keep the bags from over-extending. Dont be afraid to call and talk to the guys at Ridetech; they're really knowledgable and helpful.
Sorry I don't have any pics...

Very helpful thanks. I have a full bag kit here but I like the shockwaves up front because it prevents having to make new shock mounts. I'm trying to keep all modifications reversible so a bolt in solution is a good one. Nice to know they fit without trimming, the spring pocket looked pretty huge but it always seems folks are having to trim the pockets.

Even though my taste runs to the original look and stance, I have to admit that you have done a really nice job on that one. Well done.

Thanks for the comments guys! I appreciate it...

I ended up putting the car back to stock and selling it, so I've got the suspension setup to sell. I have the front Shockwaves and rear tapered bags from Airride, drop spindles from Fatman w/ brand new rotors and calipers, and the Airlift Easy Street air management system.
    P.M. me w/ questions
All these parts were relatively easy to install and got the car as low as possible without doing major surgery. It rode and drove great as well....
