One of my friends died a few years ago and left an estate chock full of cars out in the middle of nowhere. Many of the cars, I know what to do with. This one? Not really sure. I am told it is one owner and the engine has been rebuilt. The fuel system is clean and the brakes are fresh. The tires are "new" but I do not know how old they are. It is a 6 cylinder, three on the tree, full time four wheel drive. I am sure there are no back fees due at the DMV and it will have clean paperwork. I have told the trustee that the market for such a wagon is fairly narrow and that it is not a cash cow in any respect. I do not know how long it has been out there, but I know the day is coming when we have to remove it from the property and find a home for it. Having loved these things since I had the Tonka version as a kid, I would love to see it go to a good home. At the very least, I figured I should post it up so the members can ogle and comment on it. Buying it from the estate to keep for myself is not an option.
Not quite Arizona, not quite Nevada. Still in California. Three hours south of Las Vegas, two hours west of Kingman, AZ, three hours out of Palm Springs.
Someone should grab it! Not too often you cand find a rust free Wagoneer and this one looks solid. I guess its a native to that area. Even here in the southeast those rust because of humidity/rainy conditions.
I would love to have an old Wagoneer like that, but have too may vehicles now. It should have the 230 OHC Tornado engine. Go to IFSJA.org for more info. Good group of people over there.
My guess is that a truck/wagon like that is less than $1000.00 US. Best way to get it would be to show up out there while the trustee is on site to negotiate and sign the title. Next trip to the middle of nowhere is December 7th. If I can get somebody else to buy and pay for a different car before lunch, showing up right after lunch is the best time to haggle. The original owner was a serious car guy to say the least. And the two care takers out there have been looking after this thing as best they can. One of them rebuilt the motor (IH guy). One of them has taken care of the brakes.
It's a sweet Jeep by the loks of it, maybe you could provide info on who the trustee is and a contact for pricing........before someone takes that long last ......just show up, trip to the middle of nowhere?
I can provide the phone number if somebody would like to call her up. I have a friend in Victoria, BC who knows about this too. He doesn't want a Jeep. But he does want to visit with a car hauler.
https://picasaweb.google.com/1966ds19a/December11201202?authkey=Gv1sRgCKSt0KuG_8jgcw Try this link. The door locks work. The rear glass has a problem of some kind. Wiggles but will not go up or down. There are some pinhole rust spots in the drip rails. it is parked against the garage door making it difficult to get good pics of the rear. Phooey. The link is whacked. I think it might be on the google side. Will continue to try and get it working.
