Any other 1970 Buick Estate Wagon owners out there? 1970 seems to be a rather rare year model, atleast compared to the 1971-76. I have heard from other people that it might be as little as 50 pc or less left worldwide :49: ??

Buick didn't make any fullsize wagon for 1965-69.

I know of at least 4 here in The Netherlands. Like the 70 Riviera it is a Buick of a different feather for sure....

OK, so far its 4 in the Netherlands, 5 in Sweden and 3 here in Norway (2 of them are mine), 1 in Autralia and so far haven't found any in Denmark.

But, compared to other US car models here in Europe, 3-5 pc. of one model are VERY rare.

From what I have heard earlier, its supposed to be less than 25 pc left in the US all in all. How many which still are roadworthy, who knows?

Anyone else know of any or own 1970 Buick Estate Wagon? :tiphat:

Even with a survival rate as low as 1% there would still be 260 around....

    Cheers Dyna

PS: 1% is a very low rate its most likely higher..

Assume that the survival rate are different for wagons / sedan than conv's / hardtops?

I also own one 1970 Buick Electra 225 custom conv, prod. in 6045 ex. I know of a lot more Electra conv's than Estate Wagons even the fact that a total of 28306 wagons was manufactured.

:) I don't know about any scientific data in regards to survival rates. It's common knowledge that the more flair the car has the higher the survival rate is. The currently know survival rate of 57/58 Eldorado Brougham is a staggering 65% (and it's probably a quite a bit higher since unknown Eldos constantly getting discovered). I would guess it can be even higher for some European full breed cars. Lowest on the list would probably be station wagons, delivery wagons/sedans, post sedans, etc.. i.e. cars that are work horses and not associated with any glamour. Still how often don't we hear about about Chevy sedan/wagon delivery that have survived. I think it's seldom you will see a car's survival rate being below 1%..
    Cheers Dyna

:) Yes, know what you mean. In Sweden I think that theres almost more 1958 Buick Limited conv's than Buick built........

Seems like 2 pc of the 1970 Buick Estate Wagons I knew about in the US has been exported to Germany. One of the new owner, Thomas, recently has become a member on this site :Welcome:

My parents have a 1970 Estate Wagon in Michigan (U.S.A). Its pretty much all original and has the 455 c.i. engine. It spent winters in Arizona before they got it. After they got it, it spent winters in storage.

Previous owner of this car was Michael DeBaker in TX. Some might have seen this car before since its almost photos / info about it on every website covering Buick.
Thomas, mentioned previously in this tread, bought it from Michael, but he might be forced to sell it again.

I think that this tread shows that Buick Estate wagons from 1970 is rather rare cars compared to alot of other makes / models. You see both my wagons in my avitar.

    Here´s another one...

Hi folks, here´s another one left! According to the papers, this beauty belonged to one person/family until 2007. It then went to Czech Republik, where I bought it last year from the guy who imported it. I drove it to Germany without any problems. I tell you, this is a really cool car. I have been into US cars sine my childhood, I have visited a lot of meetings during the past 20 years and I have NEVER seen this model anywhere. So it definetely MUST be a very rare find.
