I have always watched what was going on with the weather, more so than any of the old men I have ever met. To all of our wagon family out east be careful.. Sandy looks really bad. It is supposed to reach as far inland as Ohio potentially. Hopefully it will weaken and I pray it does. Be safe no matter where you are.
Thanks Xavier. I too have met old men and old men who have no idea whch way the wind is blowing. That said, I am sitting here with windows wide open, wind blowing briskly, or semi-brisky, sun shining and birds tweeting. Wheather or not the weather will turn bad is soon to be found out. However, at my tender age, I have learned I personally can't do a lot, actually nothing, about impending doom or a possibly beautiful weekend. Everyone in the path of Sandy be prepared and stay safe. As for me, I will continue fooling around on this computer until I loose signal. At that time I will read a book. If and when the power goes off I will gripe a lot and hope for a brighter tomorrow. Because I know that the sun will come out tomorrow. I said so in another thread.
...and here I thought he was gonna have a picture of some hottie weathergirl named Sandy................
Yea, sorta disappointing. :banghead3: I guess we missed out on whatever winds blew thru. Kinda cool and overcast but no rain or high winds. This honest clean livin is still payin off.
My turn to warn you Cook county Illinois residents and those all along Lake Michigan. Check your local weather reports. Hurricane Sandy is predicted to cause 50-60 mile an hour winds on Lake Michigan with 10-20 foot or more waves by Monday and Tuesday. Hard to believe a storm on the east coast can do this. Xavier please do not go skinny dippin along Lake Shore Drive until further notice.
aww its just a little wind and rain. they always church these things up to be worse then they really are. the wind does mess up my hair tho
I live in New York-on Long Island. Hope they are wrong about this storm. Earlier today I went with my friend as we had to move his boat to a safer area as where we are they are talking about a full moon high tide 6-10 feet higher than normal. Now his boat is a 51 footer and we had a 2 hour trip on the Long Island Sound.6-8 foot waves bounced us around like we were nothing. New York City has already announced school closing and I think I heard at some point the subway system will be shut down due to possible flooding.I would also imagine the schools in my area will be closed also. Glad I put new wiper blades on my wagon as I do have to go to work tomorrow. Other parts are also supposed to get hit real bad too. Should be interesting around here next couple of days.
Does sound a little scary. We put away all the lawn funiture and ornaments today. We, so far, are not suppose to get it as bad as you folks and into Ontario. Keep your head down, stay safe.
Lawn ornaments Fannie? Do you have the pink plastic Flamingos, lawn Knomes, the assorted plastic pinwheel flowers, a concrete deer, or maybe its the bright blue globe on top of a concrete pedestal. I have pink plastic Flamingos, but they only come out of the shed for special occasions. Most of my lawn ornaments are the kind with four wheels.
i dont get those.... its like an epiphany ball. you walk up and touch it and i gives you magical enlightenment or some crap!
Item 28913 zoom Description A restaurant placemat that offers advice on how to prepare for possible hurricanes. The Maine Civil Defense and Public Safety Department created the mats and distributed them to restaurants through the Maine Restaurant Association. Diners were invited to take the mats home with them
NOAA is forecasting 15 foot waves on Lake Superior tomorrow - time to wax my surfboard and skip out of work.
We still have power and Internet, however the phones are gone, and there are trees down all over the place. Took 4 tries to get home, since so many roads are blocked. This will be my last post until everything gets back to normal, since once the power goes out, it will be a few days before it is restored. The local streams are overflowing there banks, and road flooding is rampant all over. Just hope that the road to my home doesn't wash out where the stream crosses it.
