Interesting. A loaded Bel Air, which is unusual to start with. But somewhere along the line the tailgate has been changed. It has Impala lamps. Biscayne and Bel Airs had 2 lamps per side, Impala had 3. On the lower lines, the inner lamps were red unless reversing lamps were ordered, in which case they had clear centres. On Impalas, the middle was always clear, but did not work unless reverse lamps were ordered, as they were an option on all lines.
Interesting car but I hate the description. Just so non committal. Plus the dude parked next to a fire hydrant! About the car, I'm curious what options it came with from the factory and what has been added later. As Mike said, the tailgate has been changed but the tach is in the incorrect location as well. Makes me question the engine, cruise and other power options too. Not that it matters much if the price is right and you just want to drive and enjoy the car. Chris
Rules For someone with 0 Ebay feedback they sure have lots of rules. This whole ad makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. My aunt ( cause she had 6 kids) had one of theses new. It was a 9 passenger white Impala with trim and I know it had factory A/C. I was 14 in '63 and always loved that wagon.
This car was extensively discussed a while ago on a Chevy website. The owner stated that the car was highly modified by him to reflect his personal taste. He added the tailgate, power windows, trim around the windows, etc. I believe that this is the 3rd time it is for sale, and it keeps changing hands. I don't know why, and it might be a problem with the car, or it might be that the new owners loose interest in the car quickly. Going from memory, I believe in the first sale it went to a dealer and then he flipped it to someone else. So this is probably the "someone else" selling it. Sometimes a good car gets passed around like the prom queen on prom night......
Looks like it could be a cruise control. I've never seen a 1963 model year cruise setup, but it's got what looks to be speedometer cables in and out as well as a pull cable to the carb. Well, that's my guess anyway...
