Hello everyone. I'm in Olympia, Washington and just picked up a 1993 Roadmaster Estate Wagon.

I've noticed that the upper hinge on each rear quarter wing window has become unglued from the window glass. Does anybody have any suggestions as to what to use to reattach the hinge??

    Thanks in advance!!

Welcome to the Forum Blurr! Usually the glass can be re-attached using rearview mirror glue. Works well on glass and can be found in almost any parts store.

:Welcome:to the wagon train, blur. A very common problem with these wagons. After it's fixed...most of us close those vent windows and never open them again. It, in my opinion, is a defect on these. They, unfortunately, seem to keep breaking.:(

    Welcome, Blurr.
    Very nice RMW.....
(Wonder if we featured it in our Craig's List, Auction section......?)

If you're interested, somewhere out there there's a write-up on converting those little 1/4 vent glasses to powered ones. You have to find parts from a '78='82 mid-size GM sedan or wagon with power rear door vent glass.

Feel free to join in with our discussions..

Hubby is repeating this same suggestion, also make sure the glass in clean before appling the glue.

:Welcome: to the wacky world of wagons.

Having tried the glue from the parts store, I would say go to any glass shop and have them do it right. To put the mirror mount back on the windscreen of my old 79 Thunderbird, the shop charged me the same amount as the 'special glue' anyway.

Mirror glue is the trick. Beautiful wagon btw. My favorite color on the Roadies!

x2 on leaving the vent windows closed.;)

Rear view mirror adhesive works sometimes but it can be iffy going by other people's results on the forums.
I'd rough up the glass and hinge to give them some tooth then clean it with alcohol and use a 3M 2 part epoxy, or duct tape.:)

Power rear vent windows would be cool but finding those old GM parts is tough.
In a couple of days you could train a monkey to ride in the way back to open and close them on demand.
I'd say train a blonde bikini model to do it but that would take years.:D
