Anyone know the value of these old steel wheel boards?

It was a gift when i was a kid and found it when we moved back to the old place.

Also have steel wheel roller skates.

Any links or info would be a help.

Can't help with a price, but remember the steel wheels....

Ahhhh, the memories of doing 100mph and hitting a tiny tiny pebble on the road and.......
...your board went from 100 to zero in 1/2 a inch, but you kept going......

Any self-respecting sidewalk surfer (like me) wouldn't be caught dead riding one of those steel-wheeled jobs. That looks like a cheapie you would find at whatever discount store was in your town back then. Find one with some urethane rubber compound wheels, like the guy falling off the board in the pic.

The steel wheels didn't work very good - too much sliding - no grip.

Back in the 60's you had urethane wheels?

I'm not going riding just looking for collector value.

Yup. Well, I don't know if they were actually urethane, but they were some kind of rubber compound. They were a bit hard, comparable to the wheels on real good shoe skates back then. In fact, they were probably the same thing. Wheels these days are softer, but wear out faster.

Yea, but Krash, we were skating and skateboarding back when the wheels were steel and cars had spoked wheels. Sidewalks were cracked irregular cement and kids were tough.
    Remember skate keys? :taz:

I remeber very early 70's wide very hard plastic wheels on boards, but I really dout they were made of urethane, no way. They helped alot when it came to that 100 to zero factor, but would still kill ya if you were not paying attention.

    Yup, I do......

Cept we did'nt have shocks, disc brakes, helmets, pads....sh**, it would have to have been a cold day in hell to wear nothing more than shorts....AND WE LIKED IT!

Had one of these, but it was my entire left @zz cheak, and there was more raw flesh, sticks and stones in it.

Camping on one of the smaller islands I though ( all boozed up:162:).. I can ride down that... well you sure find out who your friends are after. Back at camp while everyone is have a good lauph on me, I dropped my shorts, bent over a chair, and my sister inlaw picked all the foren material out....took a good couple months to heal. True Story!

So, No Cat....I don't see at all how we treated our bodies when we were young effects us in our older years!

You might be surprised how much it will bring. I sold a deck and a complete set up recently for a total of about $450. They were 70's era. I did not research the steel wheeled.

If it were mine I would list it on ebay with a reserve of $125.

Hey...these are the only kind of roller skates I remember! One size fits all. With keys!

Yep, them's the ones that got me a broken arm on a sidewalk with too many raised sections and a car backing out of the driveway. Missed the car but fell down boom!
The plastic wheels were on my inside roller rink shoe skates. Even had a custom case for those.

I was skateboarding a lot, particularly in junior high school. Made my own board in wood shop.

Thats cool, KK. I skate boarded when I lived in Winnipeg, to get around faster on the flat land...didn't have a bike.

Moved here in 82, saw some guys mountain biking....bout a m=bike ASAP. I'd most likely be dead if I boarded the mountains... I se it on TV and go...HOLLY SH**
