A buddy from HS's dad, US Air airline captain, had one of these with the 396 and hide a ways. His was that beautiful medium metallic Lemans blue. Maybe all the hide a way cars were big blocks?

I've NEVER seen dual rear sway bars on anything!
I was in Chevy Parts at Nickey in Chicago, and we did some switchery, but never dual rear sway bars!
    Anyone else?

This car was made pre Jan 1, 1968 btw as I believe all subsequent car production required the head restraints?

That's a smart move I think, he's getting good money for that car in that condition.

Yep, while the car is loaded, it needs quite a bit of work to bring it up to excellent condition.

The car is being sold by a broker ( vulture )

For what they are asking for it, needing things, for 11K .....

Its nice but not that nice.

The hideaway headlamp system bumps the value up. The kids will buy a run of the mill 68 Impala which is essentually the same car , and then snatch up a Caprice with the hideaways and put them onto their Impala. The hideaway system is rare. It was a factory option and less then 11,000 Caprice's got them. Including Estate wagons.

The hideaways also got put onto the 69 Caprice , but in 1969 the whole body style changed. That was all, after the 68 and 69 model years the Caprice hideaways went away.

My neighbor has a 1968 Impala SS Convertable and he and I have been hunting for a Caprice with the hideaway system even if the rest of the car is a basket case. The guy bought the Imp back in 1980 , before the flippers and brokers gobbled them up. Christ he got the car used for 1200 bucks back then. That was a lot of money for the time. I think 1968 was the last year for the Impala SuperSport

There was a '69 Impala SS, but I believe it was the last one until the 'oughts' front drive Impala SS

$11+k seems to me to be a bit pricey for this wagon, but I guess all the options makes it highly desireable....

I just learned something .... thanks.

About the No sale on the estate wagon. I didnt think it would sell. Aside from the work it needs, ot was priced way too high. In this day and age where nobody has a job, or the ones who have one are fearful they will be next on the chopping block, Europe going into financial ruin as we speak. Only the 1% has disposable income like that.

My dad had a '68 SS 427 Impala. Wish I had that car.
