I think it's necessary to stress this point.

There's a lot of members that have sold their wagons or lost their wagon fancy and they're not around and they are missed. It's a shame people go their separate ways sometimes.

After going back in time and reading Mark's introduction, I have a strong feeling that another station wagon will be in his future.

Plus, I called Miss Cleo and she told me so! :pub:

Am I off the mark, Mark?

Yea, Zal, your off by a little bit, I don't subscribe to Miss Cleo...

Okay, seriously, I'd love to get my hands on an early to mid 50's GM, preferably Pontiac, Buick or Olds... That said, it will be a while and will depend on the success of my future art endeavors. I'll hope to gain the support of this community with that one.

In the mean time, The Suburban, should we keep it, is a Station Wagon of the 'draft horse' variety and the pick up I'm looing at has 4 doors and a smooth top Leer painted
to match so it 'looks' like a big wagon... (I suppose, technically, a conestoga 'wagon'
had more in common with a pick up than it would with our beloved 'covered' wagons
as we now know them.) T

Mindless trivia: Studebaker built the Conestoga, thus the name's use in the '40s and '50's for their passenger cars and commercial vehicles.)

    |More mindless trivia---------Before Studebaker built covered wagons to go west young man, they built wheel barrels.
Silverfox and I have some of the original wheelbarrows from our farms in Kentucky while fuedin with the Hatfields and McCoys.

Remember, Studebaker became Packard and they switched from wheelbarrels to cars for awhile after stopping production on covered wagons. . Last wheelbarrow I bought was at Wally World for $50 and it lasted six months!

I didn't say that exactly. You may consult their Mexican or Chinese dealership for further information.
;) Our stop at your local Studebaker-Packard dealership.:p

My book will be illustrated and, hopefully, will paint an imaginary tapestry of Americana. Time, and God willing.[/QUOTE]

    Mark,

Have you ever considered doing graphic novels? The field is a little crowded but they do seem very popular. I would think that your background would lend itself to that type of work. I don't think anyone gets rich off these but might provide some income. I always thought a car related one would be cool. I have an idea but zero talent( I think I had a teacher or two that told me that :) ).

Maybe in the future, I better see if I've got the poop as a writer first. Using the idea I have under way should be a fare test. We shall see... I'm afraid a car related graphic novel might come across as hopping on the "CARS" bandwagon. I'd like to see a revival of
something like CARtoons magazine but even that one struggled to make it. Thanks for the thought, It is a good thought and something worth keeping in mind.
