I love red vehicles. Can't say as I've ever had red---or pink clothes---or red, or pink rooms in the house either! To me a black wagon or large car looks more expensive and elegant.
Hope it doesn't turn out as a poor HHR story!Maybe KK should check the tires, o-2 sensor, and the radiator first.
Now that we've got that 'red' issue out of the way, what you all think of this? http://redding.craigslist.org/cto/3005502325.html It's rare, it runs, it's cheap, and it's within driving distance.....
Are you going to be using the wagon you buy for work and general daily driving? I like these cars but I don't like this one for you. It needs things and it will end up considerably more than the $4500.
Yeah, that one is 'iffy', but they don't come up for sale very often. This one was up 8/9 months ago on CL and I saw it then. I'd have to paint it completely, new tires/wheels, new interior, plus whatever it needs mechanically. I'd like it, but it's probably too much for me. And yes, whatever I get has to be a DD. I may switch vehicles with the wifey if I have to go a long distance....
It appears to be an okay car but for that price it should be fully functional the way you want it to be, as purchased. You'd need to spend several thousand dollars, and invest a bunch of time, before it was up to your standards. If you don't mind the extra time and dollar investment, and given these are not for sale frequently, and it is close at hand.................. If it were me, given the situation you have described, I'd be waiting for one that better fits your needs all around. You may pay a tad more up front but save a bundle in time and out of pocket by waiting. Just my thinking out loud........
Every once in a while a pretty nice mid to late 80's Ford or Mercury will pop up around here for around $2-2500.00. They don't last long. Some Buicks or Oldsmobiles show up, but for some reason they are usually beat up more than the FoMoCo cars. Of course the Buicks command a higher price than the Olds. Personally, I'd rather fix an engine or a tranny than a beat up or rusted body. And finding trim peices can be a long difficult quest. Old Fords offer pretty cheap transportation with style and functionality for not a lot of money, I think. And they're very durable and reliable as well as being pretty easy to work on.
Yeah, that's why I threw this one out to you guys - seems like a fun 'project' but not for me in my situation. Not quite ready to 'go' yet anyway.
I know your not ready yet because you have to sell, but a bit of insperatio for ya http://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/ctd/2999340314.html Ohhhh,,,,, http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/cto/3012518272.html http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/cto/3011982829.html $900...
Beautiful Roadmaster, and a very nice Merc. Even though the Merc has a TBI instead of MPFI, you couldn't go wrong with either car. How many $$$ you have would be the deciding factor, I think.
I think I'd shy away from the CP just because of it being TBI. I'd want the EFI in a CP. All three of those are nice.....
It's a beauty, that Colony Park, but pretty high miles. If I was gonna pick one of the three, it would be the Olds for 900 bucks. If it were close, I'd have bought it already.
