I love Christmas, and everything that goes with it. But please, wait till after Thanksgiving!!! Thats when I'll tack the lights up in the carport and and hang a bow off the front of the Vista Cruiser.

Oh and yea, politically correct means you are just being a pansy. Grow up. Oh and when the time is right I will be saying "Merry Christmas" to the people shopping at my work. Don't care if I get into trouble over it!!

Well, I havn't started yet but I allways put the X-Mas lites up in November so Dec 1, the lites are on.

I remember as a kid if there was one house on the street with no lites, it was wierd. Now it's almost the other way around!

We have been saying that for years, mocking the political correct BS.

Then Santa can't say HO HO HO anymore.

Yeah I was at the grocery store last night and it was nonstop Christmas music. I say come on, at least let Thanksgiving get over first.

Then there was this house I saw BEFORE LABOR DAY that had Christmas lights turned on outside, and a Christmas tree lit up in the house. I thought ok maybe it's a typical Michigan tourist who comes up here for 3 months out of the year then goes back to Florida, maybe they wanted to do the Christmas in August thing. But then mid September I saw it again.

No $h!t. My wife and I are not religious. We have our spirituality. The only time we have any problems is when some one tries to use our cultural life style against us. So yah, I agree that political correctness is just being stupid...

In a metropolitan area of around 150,000 people or so, and despite the overwhelming christian presence http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Joplin , only about 10% to 15%, 20% maybe this year of the houses will be displaying Xmas lights... And yes Joplin has its own Urban Dictionary definition.

It's funny. The guy that is responsible for putting up the decorations where Z works was told to make it look like christmas came up and puked on the store. Actual words. The store manager got in trouble for not having the store looking more christmasy in mid October... And Walmart has been playing really loud Xmas music for weeks! I think they are trying to ruin it for those of us who really like and enjoy Xmas...

Well....I think the Rev would leave the Christmas stuff up all year if he wouldn't get razzed so bad! I hope he posts pix again this year after he "decorates". You can't even walk through his house for all the xmas stuff!:rofl2: The Rev does like Christmas!:yup:

Sound like Rev is with Xmas the way Z and me are with Halloween... Although, to be truthful, we do a lot for Xmas, too.

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.
Better to have too much than not enough, you'd be really upset if the stores didn't decorate or play Christmas music.
Keep complaining about it and all you'll do is give them an excuse not to.
The Christmas music in stores doesn't bother me a bit, there are a lot more important things to worry about than that, like if you can afford to feed your family and pay the bills. The reason for less residential holiday lighting is purely economic and these are hard times for some of us, those lights and the electric bill can really add up, I know.
The stores have to do their decorating early and the music goes with it, they're too busy after Thanksgiving and just don't have the manpower or time to do it even with added help.

I wish they would play the winter songs after Christmas, like "Let it Snow", "Frosty the Snowman" and "Sleigh Ride" to mention a few.:)
