My brother liberated one of those brand new off the lot when he was 16.
Why?... I don't know, he won't talk about it to this day.
They caught him fast, it was a little hard to remain incognito in the only Checker wagon in town that wasn't an extended airport taxi.:rofl2:

Wait a minute, Blue. Your brother stole a brand new car off a lot and it was a Checker wagon? What was he thinking. If he was going to steal something, why not go for a GTO or a Mustang or something fun? A Checker?!!!

I think that's why he won't talk about it, the shame must be unbearable.:(
There was a Poncho dealer right next door too, I delivered papers there and the lot was full of Goats.
If your going to go down for something you should make it worthwhile or take everybody out with you.:rofl2:

    BAD NEWS!

    The owner called.

The bad news; it is affordable and about a days work from being driven and passing inspection.

More bad news... it was never a cab! :2_thumbs_up_-_anima

    My shop is filling.:banghead3:

I say...buy it, get it running, sneak it into your bro's driveway at night, get your policeman buddy to park his patrol car at the end of the driveway, 6 AM, or so. Ring up the bro' and say "hey...what the hey out front of your house"?
    Or...maybe not...

I'm kinda partial to the Continental sixes in the older ones. But a 283 is not a bad engine. Would make a great platform for a Twin Turbo'd LS3. You'd have all the room in the world.
